I'm sorry but whilst I completely support the march, I cannot condone violence. Sadly the protesters who went peacefully with good intention and who were showing the government what they thought are going to be tarred with the same brush as the mindless rabble who went with the soul intention of causing trouble.

And we know they were there for that -or are people suggesting that the picture of the policeman with paint all over his face was made up by the media?

Very sad that a meaningful and peaceful protest was highjacked and now the government have an excuse to feel smug and hard done by.

I wish I had said that - it was so much more succinct than my ramblings

Ah the Government ain't daft. They know there's a couple of hundred out there would even turn up to a march about the unfair opening of an envelope just so they kick off and cause trouble. They know that the majority of the protesters today have been peaceful.

One does wonder if the boys in blue (either lot), have their own boys not in blue plotted in there somewhere to help things kick off....

The cynical in me  thought it may be a set up. That slimy odious Osborne geezer - did he pay 'rent a mob?'

I am doubtful that the breakaway group - the so-called anarchists - share the same objectives as the main TUC demonstration.

They are mostly of a similar age (the age when the word 'anarchist' was frequently used before we moved on), and their main objective seems be to commit criminal offences.

The final thrusts of youth having a 'fun' day out on the rampage.

I agree. I can't call them protesters, all they seemed to want was to create havoc and distruction.

Its a shame it been spoiled by genuine people protesting at the atrocious cuts these back slapping tory boys are attempting to go ahead with. The NHS is just untouchable to me, and I hope it's reported fairly, on BBC news everyone including the police said the TUC demonstration went by peacefully and was a family day.

Yes, and IMO they are not genuine protesters,  just  a bunch of hooligans, and should be treated as such!

As I said up there Baz, I'd turn the hoses on the lot of them

yobs Baz, who probably either didn't vote or don't know who the voted for  It's a shame that people want to protest and ask the government to look again and the headlines are taken over by idiots.
