Day 19: Spencer and Heidi choose non-compliance
It was hard to make out what Speidi were discussing when they first awoke on Day 19. Nestling under their duvets before BB had demanded microphones be switched on (at all times), the odd faint word popped out from beneath the sheets.
"Winner" could definitely be heard. "Rylan" was definitely audible. Aside from that, the only full sentence that could be fully discerned came from Spencer when he told his missus he was staying in bed, that she should too, and that the only reason he'd move would be to clean himself, to eat or if Big Brother demanded their presence.
So non-compliance is the order of the day. Speidi have refused to participate in the Boys Vs Girls task and other housemates look rather pleased that this is the case. At one point, as they were called to the Diary Room to explain their opting out of playing ball, Razor shouted "Just get rid of 'em, Big Bruvver!" without worrying about how it might make them feel. There's no love lost and it seems everything that needs to be said has been said.
Having only spoken to one another in hushed tones, we've been earwigging on what Speidi have been saying to one another as they lay, protesting in bed like a Beverley Hills John & Yoko, minus the peace (and the niceness).
Spencer declared "This show has made me 1,000 times more patriotic", to which Heidi replied: "Me too. Infinitely". Struggling with the silence that engulfs the room whenever he enters, Spencer told Heidi "The best part of this show will be when it ends. Whatever's happening out there will be better than what's happening in here with these people. I cannot wait. It's so close".
In the Diary Room, Big Brother asked the pair if they intend to talk to anyone at all on Day 19. Spencer replied "We're playing a game [between us] to see who can talk to House enemies less. And also looking at House enemies less", making it clear this is a defiant act and not just awkwardness.
Speaking about the next eviction, Heidi described it as "win, win". Spencer replied "I'm so excited about eviction night. Anything is possible"
On a final note, talking about their housemates' current attitude to them, Spencer said "There is no worse punishment than being here with them till Friday. Or watching them"
We beg to differ. We quite enjoy watching the housemates and we'll be sad when they all leave the House on Friday. Saying that, we'll also be sad to say goodbye to Speidi. No matter how grumpy they get and even if they stay parked under their duvets, this moody pair are an enthralling watch and no mistake.
