really really sorry... I've had massive PC poblems today - PC has been 'hanging' ALL day. Believe me, I've worked on it ALL day. I sort of gave up trying just before 9pm tonight and the PC suddenly sprang to life. My first thought was to do a back-up CD(which I dont have).
I have never done one before, but the backup has now just finished. It took 3 rewritable DVDs. My question is basically, can I use these to do more backups?

hi everyone, what I mean is - my computer was 'sort of' loading up (windows vista), I've only had it for about 10 weeks. I got the option of starting windows normally or doing a repair. I tried both options SEVERAL times throughout the day (changing boot-up, starting in safe mode, safe mode with networking, system restore, last known good config etc) - EVERYTHING I tried, seemed to keep 'hanging'. Like I said, I EVENTUALLY gave up, because it seemed that basically I needed a recovery disc (which I dont have). The PC was left running whilst I was watching something or other, I just left it and went about my business. EVENTUALLY I went to turn it off and use my daughters laptop (she was now in bed), and I notice the 'light' flickering on the PC, so I shoved the mouse to get out of standby - and lo and behold, the bloody thing is working!!!! First thing I did was attempt a backup disc (all three of them). I purposely used rewritables so that I can hopefully use them again)?????
BS
You can re use rewritable disks..cos they are just that, rewritable. However you should really dump the data from the disks onto another computer. To do this create a folder on your desktop (or wherever you want to do this) and insert the rewritable disk and drag the contents into your new folder.

Create 1 folder for each of the disk and don't forget to label the disk correctly.

Finally delete the data from the rewritable disk and you can now reuse it.
