I don't have the heart or will to continue The Apprentice threads here.

With no disrespect to anyone from GaGa who have tried to make us feel very welcome, I have been lurking for the last week and feel at the moment anyway, that this really isn't the place for me or The Apprentice Thread as it was.

I would rather my involvement with The Apprentice be remembered for the last 4 series on GBBF, the fun, the camaraderie, the debating and the good natured fun that it was. Not what I fear it might become whist there is so much tension in the air at the moment.

So I'm hanging my Apprentice boots up now. It truly was the greatest pleasure to put my name to the thread every week. I have laughed until I've had tears rolling down my face, learnt lots of new words, learnt to debate and accept that I'm not always in the right and these threads for me were the highlight of my forumming days.

I will be about, of course I will still be watching The Apprentice and I can't thank enough the regular contributors who made it what it was, too many to mention and I daren't as I always forgot someone who's contribution should never have been forgotten.

Lots of Love to you all Sugarettes.

Mrs BBV, I understand your misgivings about this place at the moment, quite frankly, some of the language has left me speechless, as well as some of the actual posts....

At first I thought it was great being able to say a**e & s**t...now I am longing for the Mods to have more input....

...The Apprentice Thread is yours and will not be the same without you, I do hope that you feel in the future you are able to 'put your Apprentice Boots' back on! Valentine

Mrs BBV - I've said it in the Apprentice Section and I'll repeat it here as well.

Those of us who have posted in the Apprentice threads over the years recognise it as being your thread and I cannot envisage it being created by anyone else.

I do hope you will seriously reconsider your decision and stay put for your fellow Sugarettes. It just wouldn't be the same without you.

That is my plea. Hug

It wasn't meant to be a forum flounce or a goodbye but this place is just not quite right for me as it stands. Until I feel more comfortable with here (if I ever do) I don't want to see our apprentice threads trolled or be anything other than what they've always been.....good natured and fun.

Your kind words are very much appreciated but I don't want to be part of the darker side of forumming. I find it very difficult to walk away, or to remember it's just cyberspace. That's my fault that I don't deal with it very well, it becomes all too real for me. I would find it too hurtful to watch the apprentice threads degenerate to what some of the other threads on this board have and I would take that too personally.

Mrs BBV, I don't watch The Apprentice and so haven't been in your threads but I just want you to know you're not alone in the way you feel. Many of us came here on a high when we found somewhere to replace C4 only to watch it degenerate into something difficult to stomach. I've come close to leaving myself because the atmosphere here isn't what I personally want from a forum. I can't bear trolls, I can't bear watching people finding it funny, entertaining or even worthy of a response. It brings my mood down, till I can't be bothered to post even in the fun threads.

BUT... and its a big but (hence the capitals Laugh) when you think about it rationally it's caused by such a small minority. A tiny minority! The longstanding threads that are always here, like the Towers are rarely if ever trolled. Whether it's because they're beneath the trolls contempt Crazy or just because they know they won't get the reaction they want, I'm not sure, but whatever it is, it works. I believe the apprentice threads will be treated in the same manner.

The people who come here purely to have fun are the most important on the forum Mrs BBV.... so don't go, we can't afford to lose you. Hug

That really is a shame, and whilst l don't participate in that particular thread. To stop only allows those disruptive eliments to win. And in that way we all lose. Frowner
