Songs that get you, emotionally

Oh, there are so many...in fact, if I ever deciee the world needs my autobiography, I'll probably just release a soundtrack album Big Grin

A lot of mine have already been mentioned, but here's a few more...

A kind of magic by Queen, and Faith of the Heart by Russell Watson have special meaning to me...and for different reasons, so do Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat, and How it Ends by Devotchka.

But there's one song from the 70s which not only reduces me to tears, it brings me out in a cold sweat and puts my adrenal glands into meltdown...so you can imagine the industrial strength medications I needed when it was chosen as the Comic Relief single a few years ago... Eeker
Sarum

Young Girl- Gary Pucket and the Union Gap...reminds me of my first crush at 12 years old...he was 21 Eeker

Our House-Madness..Me and my two sons used to sing it before school everyday..still cant listen to it all these years later

Two Little Boys-Rolf Harris...Personal reasons

Crazy- Patsy Cline...in my morose drinking days

Willie Nelson...Country and Western singer but anything by his haunting voice gets to me

loads more

Also , The Old Rugged Cross, which was sung at my dads funeral, since then, any funeral we go to,it is sung and they always say,we had it because we loved it at your dads funeral.

Crying

PS,i would be very grateful if someone could provide a link for Tomorrow from Annie.

Kills me to hear it - it really does. Hopefully most of you will 'know' about my daughter by now.

Agree that's a fab tune Barmy Thumbs Up

Both my parents were Irish Catholics, (I'm a bit of a lapsed Catholic, but I know you never truly leave.) At my Dads funeral we had Frank Sinatra - I did it my way (cos he did) and Danny Boy, sang by Josef Locke. I used to love Sunday mornings when I was a child, my mum used to sing all the Irish songs to me. I even found Noreen Bawn on you tube today It would have been mum's birthhday last Friday 10/07/09. This thread has been lovely today, I've listened to every song. Crying
