Bit more of a clue needed stonks
It's not Savage Garden is it? If you mean Chicago the group that was more 80's, SG was 90's but thought I'd ask just in case
Do you know if it was a solo artist or band? American? English? Oooh it's like name that chooon for the deaf
..soz have'nt got a clue but it reminds me of an American group, i heard it before 95 so could have been going since the 80's..he's telling his gf he loves her but its over but he still keeps her picture on the wall I think....
All I need is a picture of you does that ring a bell?

Parisienne walkways by Gary Moore and Phil Lynott?
Is it an ill advised solo outing by Gerry without his Pacemakers? Ergo, Gerry

Are you sure you weren't trying to find the original by Spandau Ballet?

Noooooooo I had this out with mr stonks, this band only robbed the sound track and added their own words....
Even worse, i have a tune in my head and it is so frustrating because i can hear the song clearly , but when i try to sing it out loud it sounds nothing like the song im trying to remember.
I don't know the title or the group.

Rhythm of the Night?
Well when i looked it up on google lyrics, i got Rhythm of the night, and El Debarge , but it is none of those. It is a dancey Number though.
It was just the first thing that sprang into my mind when I read your post. Didn't for a moment think it would be the one! I remember the version by Corona better than the other. I would post the youtube link but can't figure out how to do it, even though I must have been told how a hundred times now!
Thanks for trying.
Its so frustrating because i can hear the song in my head, and i will hear it on radio etc, when i least expect it im sure. I have wittled it down to being in the last 10 years it came out in the pop charts hehee, Im sure it was on one of my NOW albums *goes to look*

Do you know if they are American or English?....
I think they were English.
Could any of these be the lyrics?....
It was cold that night from across the west and the days had lost their spark
And the yellow lights split the rain so bright and the dogs had lost their bark
What Hitchcock plots were hatched that night behind the shuttered door
When the curtain shook and the head beat down and he quietly was withdrawn
And we moved in the Beat
Beat of the Night, Beat of the Night
Beat of the Night
So I made my way to the top of the hill and I looked on down the road
And the air stood still in the frost and chill as the hours and the minutes unfold
But the trees they shook and the house creeked as though seized by a violent rage
And the wind bites deep and the wires shriek like a noise from beyond the grave
And they moved in the Beat
Swayed in the Beat
Talk in the Beat
The Beat of the Night

Is it this Evelyn?.......
i am the beat the look?
I'm not going to take any credit for this as this is the song that stonks posted the lyrics to above - by the sound of the music there is a very strong chance that this is the song you are looking for.
Beat of the Night from Bob Gelforf and the Boomtown Rats from 1994
The clip is is audio only and runs for 10 minutes.

Thanks Evelyn. I've made a note of that, so hopefully next time I'll be able to do it! Yes, indeed, Bob is my uncle!
Can I do a cheeky ask in here, please? I was in a restaurant the other day where they were playing a cover of Queen's "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". It was a female singer doing this cover and I loved it! The staff at this place tried to find out who it was - no joy. The singer's voice sounded very familiar, but I haven't got a clue who it might be. I've done all the YouTube searches, btw - so far, I've drawn a blank.
Someone called Holly Wilson did a cover version, could it have been her?
BTW, I have no idea who she is, I just googled "cover versions of Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and her name came up.
Here's another cover version of Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Was it this one?
And Diana Ross did a version with Brian May
Thanks Jenny but no, it isn't that one. The cover I'm talking about was very downbeat, not up tempo. She sings it quietly and in a very laid back, sexy way This singer's voice sounded so familiar! I know that when I find out who it is I'll be kicking myself.
Thanks, Yogi I tried Holly Wilson (whom I've never heard of) but Tube doesn't have it. I'll just have a Google like you did and work my way through that I suppose

Jen - nope. Not Diana Ross either. Thank goodness - cos that's an awful cover!
