Something like this happened to my mum. She was asleep one afternoon on her own when she felt someone shake her, she got up and went downstairs to find our curtain on fire. Somehow this glass window hanging thing had been reflecting on to something and it had caught fire.

My sisters house was like that. its a fairly new house as well? but its big and its scary. Im sure she had a poltergeist once. Things moved all over, water puddles appeared from nothing and you could hear people walking up and down the stairs when there was nobody in. Once when i was on the phone my friend on the other end said she could hear noises like someone picking up the phone upstairs and putting it down. I could hear it too but i just said "DONT SAY IT JUST KEEP TALKING TO ME". When my mum was there one night she was terrified as she said she could hear children laughing on the baby monitor in my nieces room (who was then a tiny baby) and children running about. Loads and loads of things would happen in that house daily. Like you it was turning your back that freaked me out i would never turn round to look at the house when i was going out cause i hated the windows. *spooks self again*

Yeah, I definitely believe it.
I've had so many things happen to me, especially in my house, but they're not majorly exciting spooky things.
The worst one was I was in the bathroom once and I hadn't locked the door 'cause I was the only one up and I heard the lock slide across the door. I was absolutely petrified. It actually had been locked as well.
Another time I went down to the toilet in the night and I heard drumming and chanting coming from above the bathroom, but there's only the attic and the end of my bedroom above it, so I went into my bedroom (I wasn't sleeping in there at the time) and it was totally silent.
Hm, I'll try and remember some more.

When we were teens me and a friend got locked in the toilet at someone's house, but the door lock wasnt on and there was no one outside...this is the same house where they had a similar experince to Mary....her Mum had been going out and she felt someone 'tug' at her...she went back in the house to find one of the plug sockets had caught fire..

This Christmas actually we had something else happen concerning that lovely section of my house, the pope's speech was on the telly and this glass bauble came off the tree, flew across the room and smashed against the wall.

We've had 3 different people in now to try and sort it out, it goes quiet for a little while but then it's back to normal a few weeks later.
I'm really used to it now though, when I'm home alone I can hear footsteps upstairs, on the other side of the room and things falling over upstairs and in the kitchen and it freaks me out a little but there's nothing I can do really. I suppose they've as much right to be here as we do, and they're obviously very determined to stay
