Maybe it's the fact that you've both just had birthday's Pengy and Kimota Not sure why, but....

It works for me this month, but it won't work next month.

It works for me this year but won't next year.

Actually, it won't work for me after my birthday either

It will work only if you haven't had your birthday this year yet.

It works because your birth year in full (instead of the last two digits) plus your age....gives 2011....and if you take away the 1900 you get 111

eg. 1973 + 38 = 2011

So 73 + 38 = 111

But as soon as I've had my birthday and then become 39 ( *sobs* ) it won't work.....cos that's my "2012" birthday.

Next year the "trick"number  would have to be 112. And will need to go up one each year for it to work. 112 isn't going to seem as impressive as 111 though.

All future birthdays for me are cancelled.  I might just have a 40th every year so I can have a party 

When that thing first came out it said....'Your age (this year)'

It is also specific to each year. Last year it was 111, this yeat it is 112 and next year it will be 113.

It's not really a good example of a conundrum because it has to be updated each year.
