Bumping for Sparkles

I went through various tunes .........come to the conclusion it's to the tune of 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood riding through the glen' am I right?

Not mine hun, it was Erin that posted it - it is funny though. Nowt like footy fans for piling the agony on!! He's just lucky that the story has broken at the end of the English season.

He must be hoping that there's some other scandal to interest rival fans before the new season starts and he gets it in the neck.

Very true. I think he's also been lucky in not being revealed until after the end of Russell Howard's recent TV series. Russell's a big footy fan and very good at creating topical chants.

I rather suspect there's still going to be a lot of that stuff doing the rounds on Saturday, though...

Eugene's Lair

I'll have to have a look Joe tomorrow.

Eugene - yep you do, tbh they are mainly the corporate suits, the actual fans get a very small allocation. About a third of the seats will go to the suits rather than the fans - and they're not known for singing!

Never mind, it gives the PL fans the whole of the summer to come up with some gooduns Actually Joe is right, if he'd just let them publish and be damned then it would have been a five minute wonder. As it is, the press will milk every last drop from it to punish him for daring to gag them

I've said this before, but it's a well-known phenomenon called "The Streisand Effect": an attempt to hide or remove a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely.

They just never learn, do they?

BTW, I notice that Giggsy has now made it onto the Wiki page for the Streisand Effect...

Why is it called the Streisand effect?

The Streisand effect is a primarily online phenomenon in which an attempt to hide or remove a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely. It is named after American entertainer Barbra Streisand, whose attempt in 2003 to suppress photographs of her residence inadvertently generated further publicity.

He's simply doing a job IMO. He obviously does it well ......................I'm not enamoured with him TBH but if he wasn't doing it - someone else would.

Coming to think of it, if ever I went on "Dragons' Den" that would be my business plan.  Old Clifford is a bit long in the tooth and could be supping his last pink champagne any time soon.

Well quite soozy. If they buy it, the supply will carry on. I live in a tiny little village in Devon and I feel blessed that nobody presses that nonsense into my life. We don't have a shop anymore (shame), but we can get milk , eggs and bread in the pub. It's nice because it gives me a choice of avoiding the stuff.

Me too! Can't be bothered with all that crap. I'm fortunate in that we do have a village shop and pub (and chippy that's ours) there's enough gossip there to keep us going.

I seem to remember that during BB7 it was Nikki Grahame whose stated ambition was to be arm candy (of sorts) for a Prem footballer.

Still, top marks for Imogen for playing the celeb circus for all it's worth, I liked her on BB when she was being manipulated by the lovely Aisleyne, but not so much when she was being manipulated by the grotesque Gracie and Caesar (Sp?).
