I bought a new one a couple of months back and took Mr stonks with me, we saw this horrible one in a value leather store for €1.500..I took him down to the next shop and after warning him not to do the *How fecking much* face showed him the exact same suite as the other shop at €4,500....Yes he did the *how fecking much* face....

Loads of places have buy one get one free deals. If they can do that and still make a profit then can you imagine the profit they make when it's full price. I'd go to ebay or other auction sites.....or antique shops if you like that sort of thing. I don't. I like my leather sofa with recliner seat. It's mine. The cat's allowed to sit on it but not the husband or kids

Auctions are just about the cheapest place to get furniture (if you don't have a good furniture recycling place near you) but there is comission and vat on the prices and you have to be able to get it home that day or they charge you storage.
There's a posh shop round the corner from my son and DILs - one of them places that is more art gallery than furniture shop. They have a sofa made from an old bath. They've cut one side out and added a big cushion to sit on.

I've got an old cast iron bath with feet in my shed. I could stick some cushions in it. I could do with £8000
