Well, she did say her Mother was the most important person in her life....so it's a "mountain" on this occasion..
bb rarely show anything in it's totality on the highlights, tbh we don't know what the conversation was and jumping on a small snippet and blowing it up into some thing it may well not be is a bit daft, imho. Big Grin

she did realise that in afterthought though.

Well..it's all we've got. Wink
Whether for or against, our views are developed from "small snippets"...so it's equally "daft" to react too defensively to someone's take on things..

I agree ...even after she realised how bad her mother may be feeling she still went on and on and on.

OK, none of us know for sure what their relationship is like, but it IS open for interpretation... Nod

Does seem odd doesn't it Sky. One thing's for sure, all is not well in Bea's world.

Well, I would hope that is what she is thinking. I cannot believe this "friend" said they were all proud of her. Says alot about the people Bea hangs with.

Very true that none of us know their relationship, but, seems to me that she knows her relationship with her Mum very well...and what an absence of message (even by proxy) might indicate.

Most of us know our parents' likely reactions to things we do and I suspect that she's somewhat aware that she hasn't behaved that well / nicely and that Mummy might not be pleased. The lack of even a 'Hello, darling' in the friend's hologram message may have verified that to her...hence the distress and declarations that she's leaving. Mummy-pleasing might be high on her priorities.

Alternatively, perhaps, maybe her relationship with her Mum isn't, in reality, that good and the failure to send even a short message just hit home.

It DID seem a real issue for her at the time and I felt a wee (very wee) bit sorry at first but she milked it for way too long with a total lack of sensitivity for her friend's feelings or HMs boredom levels. No wonder, in the end, they laughed; it became laughably ridiculous.
