Because we ARE interested.  I am pissed off enough to avoid giving Channel 5 the viewing figures but I am still a BB fan and am probably equally as pissed off that I don't get to watch it.  Well.....I could watch if I want but I am (probably rather stupidly) hoping that if BB see the fans stop watching/voting then MAYBE next year's BB won't be as manipulated.

Of course you're free to comment... but then... you're only commenting on someone else's opinion - not making your own mind up - because your minds are already made up.  That's what I don't understand.

As for viewing figures - I've never worked out how they get those anyway - I'm sure it's from a small percentage of the population.... I don't believe that there's a C5 work experience person jotting down everytime 'Outraged of Milton Keynes' presses the on/off switch.

the fact that people are still trying to keep up with what's happening whilst not actually watching just seems to me that there's a few 'spited faces' looking for their noses....

anhyhooo....   In case you're tempted to take a peek.... if you're not on the panel... noone's ever gonna know....

What is the size of the BARB reporting panel?

The BARB reporting panel is 5,100 homes. The panel homes are located across the UK and represent the viewing of all individuals aged 4 and over within the household (plus their guests) and return data on a daily basis from around 11,500 people. All digital terrestrial, satellite and cable platforms are represented.

not quite worked that out either Aims.... there's an awful lot of 'informed' comment flying around for a programme nobody's interested in    Lots of people 'accidentally' reading stuff.   The internet really needs better directions

I'm not sure that not watching and not being interested are the same thing. Personally , I won't bolster C5 viewing figures any more , not even by looking at clips , but can't see any harm in reading  ( and commenting on ) stuff that's been written . Plus this thread was originally set up essentially for us detoxers to vent in ,

Me too. You can look on from the sidelines to see how its being received.

Maybe Kaffs ....but I ask again ...what harm are we doing .... We are more or less keeping to one thread ....no one as far as I know has invaded the HL thread, or the fan thread posting negative comments .......so why should the * watchers*  be bothered about what the * non watchers* are doing As for what's going on etc. it's pretty hard not to know with the Twitter feed over there >>>>>

Not doing any harm at all, Baz - I'm just trying to understand the appeal - I would have to say 'Really?   This I have to see...' and just pointing out that it's not really making a stand unless you're on the viewing panel.   I don't read the Twitter feed or look at the FB pages anyway, so not sure what difference that makes.

They will certainly know that the total viewing figures have gone down ....and they publish those regularly ....and they would have to be mad not to realise that for example the FB posts are down....Plus I'm willing to bet that the reason they deigned to publish their * it wasn't a fix * was a direct result of the ensuing furore....

Yeah. I'm confused every time i come to this forum to see this thread active from posters claiming they aren't watching but are talking about what's happening.

See my post above ^^^^^.....whoops , over ^^^^^ And TBH , I can't see the harm

Oh, there's no harm. It's just quite amusing tis all.

I too thought this thread was for us to comment about our not watchingness!

No. Flouncing on these forums means you have to abide to the following rules:

  • Creating your own "I'm Flouncing thread"
  • Singling out fellow posters for the reasoning you're flouncing.
  • Insulting the entire forum.
  • Slagging us off on Digital Spy.

Then you may flounce.

But you're all too lovely to do that.

Rawky-Roo

I don't read any threads about BB apart from this one.  I read the launch thread and was happy enough with that.  I'm not as interested in CBB as I am in the 'regular' one so for now, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

I don't think it matters who is watching or who is not as long as people aren't deliberately entering threads just to rile the viewers/non-viewers up.

You're too nice.

Initially I was so angry when I got put on a list. The person had quite a few run-ins with people and heavy disagreements. Most of the time the person in question was unreasonable. I offered to give some advice on how they should deal with people not agreeing with them...

then I got put on the list.

I WAS RAGING!!

I wasn't saying you can't talk about a programme your not watching more why would you bother I don't like or watch football so I wouldn't talk about it as it would be a waste of time and effort, I know what I mean anyway

I wasn't happy about Helen winning but I'm a BB fan and I want it stay so I'll keep on watching, not watching will only make the viewing figures go down which will only result in them pulling it and if you want CH 5 to see the figures go down then that must mean your happy for it to finish, so what's the point of talking about it

Because there's still left over resentment and annoyance, and often you can't just switch that off. We're working through our issues maaaaaaaaaaan

This is a safe welcoming place for like-minded people to strop!

Ok, then... I can speak for myself.  The thinly veiled assumption of moral and intellectual superiority of not watching?

Well I can only speak for myself ...and , I'm sorry, that has never crossed my mind . I don't want to watch , but I couldn't care less if people do want to .....any more than any other programme that gets talked about on here I don't watch XFactor , or some such ....but certainly don't feel above those that do. As Rosie says , some of us are ( rightly ,or wrongly ) still annoyed about the direction C5 have taken BB ....and are simply venting about it

It's not loyalty, Rog - I just don't take it that seriously - when C5 took it over they made no secret that they were going down the more 'scripted reality' route - they even said so, using these words in the first series.    I watch MIC, it's scripted, I still find it entertaining - you just have to accept it for what it is and not invest too much in it.

This is the only thread relating to BB I want to be in

The only celeb housemates I know of are Gary Busey and Claire King.... and that's from the Twitter feed over there>>>> As for C5 dropping BB for good if the viewing numbers keep falling, they've already killed the show I love and if they don't intend getting it back on some kind of original track,  then I don't care.

That's ok for those who watch MiC and towie, Kaff's, but I've never been in to those kind of programmes, I've never seen any episodes of either programme. C5 have made an *rse of my favourite programme to the extent that it isn't my favourite anymore. Why, I could have been watching Towie and MiC all these years if thats what i wanted. So I come in here to vent (or lament) for what we are all missing.... not the muk they are televising now, the programme that once was

I think Fluffs was talking about the 'other' disgusting people in the show just finished, we all, almost, made it through that one.
