I have completely lost faith in the Party system in this country and I know that many others feel the same. I was discussing this with some friends the other day and they said that they would no longer bother to vote because of it. This annoyed me a bit because voter apathy is surely never going to encourage change. That said, although I will definitely register a vote, I'm really not sure who I'll go for. I just wondered how the rest of you feel about this.

None of the above Queenie. SNP
Not sure yet, I have lost too must confidence in all Politicians, however, I do believe that using your vote now is more important than ever.....I do hope people realise this.....
I will be spoiling my ballot paper and writing across it in large letters that all politicians are tossers!
Lib Dems. They seem the least corrupt.
I've always thought don't vote, don't complain, it has become more difficult to decide though.
OOPS! You're right, sorry Scotty. I have added SNP & Plaid Cymru onto the list and it's reset the results so please feel free to vote again.
I've voted Liberal, simply because I could never vote Tory. Maybe it's the area I grew up in, mining/steel and seen what the Conservatives did to the work force when they were in power. I lost a lot of faith with the Labour party over this latest fiasco, and the Tories are no better. It's been going on for years and brushed under the carpet by both parties. So I think it will probably be a Liberal vote when the time comes.

There's always Captain Sensible's Blah Party
Well - actually I dunno if it's still going, but I always thought it was today's equivalent of Screaming Lord Sutch

No problem Queenie...thankyou.
I would normally vote Lib Dem, not that it does any good as the conservatives always get in here.
This time round I would have to either not vote or vote UKIP

For those who are voting Lib Dem, just curious, but are you voting for them as a protest to the other big parties or do you actually like their policies?
Labour though thick & thin.
I'll probably vote Green.
JasmineJ (Guest)
Iâm a (Scottish) nationalist. Hopefully the party will gain more momentum at the next election, labour supporters might switch if it looks likely that the tories are getting in.
Anybody else wondering who voted BNP?
Conservatives

I would vote for them right now because they seem "less" corrupt than the others. Don't know if that is strictly true or not, because all the fidlling/flipping stuff has not yet been revealed.
Loved the way when the Tory press first broke the story it was all Labour politicians with their snouts in the trough for loo seats, dog biscuits and a spot of harmless tax evasion
Then came the Tories. Swimming pools. Tennis courts. Moats.
I am hoping for great things indeed from the minor parties.

I've got a very good idea. There are a couple of people round here who are extremely vocal about their hatred of other races.

In similar threads on C4 I cannot ever remember anyone ever admitting to voting BNP.

I'm watching you, watching me you know. Don't think I'm not.
Paradoxically, while I loathe the BNP and all they stand for, I cannot agree with the tendency to hound people from their jobs for supporting or (worse) being members of the odious outfit.
Either we're pluralist, or we're not.

I agree completely.

I've always been a Tory too but, in the European Elections next month, I shall be registering a protest vote by voting for either UKIP or The Green Party.
In a General Election, I would still vote Conservative.
Just going to watch Question Time now - I want to see Margaret Beckett get a grilling from a member of the audience.

Bet she regrets agreeing to go on the show this week.

I agree there are two other nationalistic parties on that list and only the BNP is singled out for criticism...hmmm.quote:Originally posted by Bigdaddyostrich:

Could be because of the three, only the BNP bases its brand of nationalism on exclusion, intolerance, and "closed border" politics?
