she works quite near too home by car (15mins) but it's not on a bus route, so it takes her at least an hour too get there

Just tell her to ring in and say she can't get there

tell her to phone and explain she will be late due to the road situation, I'm sure they will understand

Aimee she will have to have a snow day off

if it keeps snowing things will be at a standstill in the morning anyway

I can see a main A road from my window and all I have seen tonight is blue flashing lights and gritter lorries every half hour - they are doing a good job but there is no normal trafic that the salt needs to work

I am actually  feeling quite fraught at the moment - Son is trying to get back from work and is down to 5 mph - I hate it when he has to be out in this

Aimee

he is now indoors   one and a half hours to do 15 miles and had to wait for the snow plough to sort a major roundabout out that a few of them had got stuck on

he is supposed to be in for 10 again in the morning and is now wondering if he will get out of our Lane ........ that  can wait - at least he is safe at home now and Mother Hen can rest easily

I remember.....back in the day....walking for 5 hours in the snow to do my shift, then staying for the best part of a week..she'll cope

tis a beautiful morning outside - very mild but my lord what a mess

10 inches where it has drifted and a steady 4-5 inches elsewhere

2 and a half hours later we have managed to get one vehicle moving and the worker taxied  and a few air gaps made in the pond

soft snow and no ice as YET - if it freezes before it thaws we are in big trouble for days

oh the joys of living in the country - down a country lane

MrsH

The dog loved his walk this morning...   bounding around like a huskey he was...

there is a serious design flaw in the Cairn Terriers "weather proof" double coat (as they call it)...

it ain't snow proof!    Just taken us a good 10-15 mins to break down the snow balls on his legs & under carraige, had to use our fingers (We all have numb hands now) & a hairdryer....
