Out of those, Labour. I don't really know what The Conservatives or the "other" party stand for.
they all stand to make a fortune out of being an MP
if there's an indipendent round here they'll get my vote. our labour MP is a self serving biatch and that's without all the expenses hoohaa.
Conservatives
But then you all knew that
But then you all knew that

One finds this quite tiresome.
Why don't you shut your moaning rip and give it a go at being an MP?
David Cameron has invited everyone to apply for the selection process. It'll be like a TV show and everything.
Does it matter, same party different coloured ties!
It would have to be Labour but simply because i would do anything for the Conservatives not to win.

Well someone may as well have a go.
Potentially it sounds more exciting than BGT, as if that were ever possible.
Actually, on reading back, that sounds rather insulting
I did not mean you personally China. Apologies!

yeah but he can cope, he's used to big things.
It would have to be Tory. I am fed up of Labour and its head line grabbing but meaningless policies.

.... and yet Dave is talking from behind a "Vote for Change!" posterboard.
Yet all he offers is meaningless platidues. There is an elephant in the room! The collapse of the laissez faire market economy. What are they going to do about it?

Well that's the point. He hasn't mentioned a single important thing that he will do differently.
I was quite pleased, nay uplifted, that he suggested he might get rid of the ID and expensive government computer systems. But I doubt that the people with the money who actually run the country would let him.

What do you suggest that would be agreeable to all, that would be better than the 'laissez faire market'?
I see nothing on the horizon that would be acceptable to the vast majority of the planet.
Whatever system is in place, some people have to be in charge, and as soon as that happens eventually it will go belly up.

you know, i dont know enough about politics to argue my corner-the only thing i can really comment on is that it seems that the country has been on a major downward slide since 'phoney blair' got the job and it hasnt improved, its just got worse
God knows who'll be able to 'mend' the country, just a party with the citizens best interests at heart would do-but i really dont think there is one
and that is about as far as my knowledge of politics gets
Joe is spot on. If Cameron is so keen on having an election now perhaps he could tell us what he stands for rather than the current diet of meaningless soundbites and photo-ops.
One thing he certainly doesn't stand for is the cleaning up of the expenses system. He's had 3 years as leader of the opposition and he hasn't said a word about it before the current scandal. This is the guy who charged the taxpayer ÂĢ800 to trim his bush. Hasn't he heard of Veet?

Labour, as useless as they are.
Can't have the Tories back in No WAY!!

1997: To be fair it may be that Brown inherited some pretty good tickets from the previous incumbent, and it was boom time from therein.
Blair can be credited with presiding over very good times, and knew just the right time to give a hospital pass to his arch enemy Brown. I think that many of us Heritage Labour supporters saw Brown as some sort of messiah. Alas! He is not PM material and carried on with the same policies.
Meanwhile the money market representatives drunk on success were throwing money at all and everything. Anything was allowed and no toddler type reins were attached to the banks. That's what laissez faire means.
HENCE People spent all their money driving up the prices of everything. Then they borrowed money to buy even more. It seemed obvious to the man on the Bromsgrove omnibus that this would crash eventually and so it has. Just as Karlo said it would.
That's my opinion although I'm not an expert.

Now you see that is something I don't understand - sorry. You would rather vote Labour even though you admittedly say they are useless?
That seems to be the norm with alot of people. They will still vote Labour even though they have been a rubbish government.

I still maintain that our great great grandchildren, god willing, will be sat attentively in History lessons. The teacher/robot/computer will explain the thirty years of Thatcherism to them including the three main Thatcherite PMs; Herself, Blair, and Brown.

I certainly hope they do and tell it correctly, that for all her faults she was one of the greatest leaders this country has seen As for Blair and Brown, hopefully they will go down in history as the most morally corrupt.
Damn, I wasn't going to get involved in a Thatcher debate today

Some good points by China and Joe.
Blair jumped ship when he knew the writing was on the wall and handed the reins to Gordon Brown who must be bitterly regretting his decision in wanting the position for so long.
As Chancellor, however, for a number of years prior to his present position, he should have seen which way the financial sector was going with the greed but he stuck his head in the sand.
Now we're well and truly in the quicksand and the economy is struggling!
My husband predicted this would happen about 7 years ago and he's not a high flying financier. Why couldn't the Government see we were heading for a financial crisis and rein in these greedy financial institutions?
Greed has brought this Country to its knees
I'd not vote anything other than labour which makes me conservative I guess.
I was delighted when Blair, the Thatcherite, was replaced by Brown.I actually thought he'd return to some of the grass roots labour policies and fully expected a hike in taxes.Sadly it's been a case of carrying on in the same legacy.
However the very people who are jumping on Gordon Browns back are probably the very people who did very well through the free market economy and are peed off that their bubble has burst.

Its next Thursday LL We've got our postal votes in already because my husband's disabled and would have trouble getting to the polling station to vote.
