I have just been catching up reading the last 5 pages of the "Bea and Freddie disagreement on LF?" thread.

I`d just like to say that, even with many varied opinions on this subject, everybody has posted with courtesy and respect for other forumers even when disagreeing.
I personally think that an influence in this regard may be the way we are treated by our hosts and moderators here. There is a lot of mutual trust goes on and I think that is well demonstrated by our manner of posting.
There are exceptions of course, but I think this thread is a pretty good example of good forum practice.
I like you all.

I've not read all the posts in that thread but I've noticed more than a few times how different the discussions about HM's are here compared to the ch4. site.

Although we all have different likes and dislikes I've not noticed any of the out and out nastiness towards an FM for having a different view of an HM. At the other place there were many times when I couldn't believe how some FM's spoke to others, some threads were far too personal in attack.

I think the Moderation, and their interaction, here has a lot to do with the difference this year.

Thanks for that observation Brisket. I was on DS on Sat and was treated with rudeness, cyber shouting, and totally ignorant replies.

I love it here, you can put your views across and have a discussion without being subjected to abuse!

Its great Valentine Hug to you all
There seems to be a new level of nastiness over there. Abuse seems to be the response to even the mildest criticism of whoever is the chosen one.

Sorry I thought we were talking about the LF thread just seen the thread in question and totally agree with Brisket Smiler

Could be due to a number of factors. Fewer peeps, nice interaction with mods, with no lf a lot of peeps can't be as certain in their opinion knowing that most action is missed so aren't as passionate about their favourite hm (if they have one at all) or it could be that the hm don't instill that much passion into us. There are still some instances where fm's get nasty and personal, but thankfully these are few and far between.

Why thank you hun Hug I have posted a 'do you like BEA?' poll too, and the people on there are split down the middle, some like her, some love her, some dislike her, some detest the sight and sound of her and some don't give a squit either way, but everyone on there has put their opinion without bashing anyone else. I am extremely impressed. It makes for a much nicer atmosphere, the forum is more pleasant, and no-one is at risk of getting bopped. Perfick! Big Grin
