THE FEEL GOOD FACTOR FILM OF THE YEAR
The most over-rated pile of shite i've ever seen probably.
Well I was so looking forward to it - it looked jolly and with a moral
A potent documentary maybe - but certainly not light entertainment
The press and media have DUPED the public!

OOH heck, I quite enjoyed the film, I found it sad,and true to life as it is in India, as well as a film with a happy ending.

The opening was bad enough and I stayed with it - but it got more and more desperate and horrendous
I got to the bit where the criminals were going to take the sight away from the child by torture and thought ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
I am taking it back to get my money back and I shall tell them that I was sold it on the ground that it was A FEEL GOOD FACTOR film!!!!

Hear me when I say - as a film / doc on the horrendous plights of the children of India
it ticks all the boxes but it's being sold as something QUITE different!
I can imagine as a film it is a powerful tool to highlight the hell on earth that these children live on a daily basis but it should not be sold as a light entertainment film -
families could sit down and watch it with kids -i planned to send it to a friend to cheer her up!!!!

dear senzie - i thought the structure of the film brilliant - how could a kid from the slums know the answers - being tortured for cheating - and then explaining to the police just how he knew each answer to each question - in short - he had lived a thousand lives as a child - terribly sad
a horrible life - but he still managed to learn to retain knowledge - he still managed to let knowlege florish dispite a hellish existance
the acting - superb
but i simply couldn't watch on
a friday night a hob nob a cup of tea fluffy slippers
then then then then
i can imagine it is a powerful film but i wasn't in the mood
this is how bad it was -
it made me think of buying a ticket to see the nolans reunion concert

a young boy being tortured
opening credits

LOL I was telling my friend and her daughter about you tonight LIL.
They had the telly on at their place and there was some kind of 80's revival TOTP type show on.
They had Bananarama (well two of them at least - the third one obviously having been hired to grace a hms rear in this years BB), Rick Astley and........
Drum roll please
The Nolans
who were in the mood for dancing
the trailer suggests it's a family film - can you imagine little ones watching that

Oh my goodness Lil!
No, you musn't. Please do not under any circumstances even think of subjecting yourself to the torture of the Nolans singing.
We Must have afternoon tea tomorrow, and discuss the pleasantries of needlepoint.

i take your point, the adverts/quotes are misleading.... but its rated a 15 (i think), so surely that's a hint it's probs not too suitable for young ones??
personally LOVED the film, but each to their own i suppose

Actually I'll tell you what I did notice, the singer was getting really out of breath by the end of the number and there wasn't any energetic dancing going on.
They'd never manage a full show without oxygen masks
Oh and they stuck the fat one right at the far end so she got the least camera time

i think if i would have been warned that it was an in depth look at the sheer hell on erth these little kids face on a daily basis - i would have braced myself
it's clearly a wonderful way of making their plight known to the world and i applaud them for that
but disney - it ain't
sometimes you just want a bit of lighthearted daft silly mind numbing twaddle to laugh at for no readon at all
you know like qvc or dog the bounty hunter that seems to hunt the same person every week
