Our garden is being over run with the little buggers
They're eating all our plants
I've even been out with a torch at 2am to catch them 
I don't have the heart to hurt them - so I don't want to buy slug n snail pellets.
I can't be scattering the whole of our garden with egg shell either
So how do I deter them - help !!!

Collect them in a bucket and tip them out more than 70 yards away 
Pick them up and take them far away ,read it here not so long ago.

That's not far enough ,I think you have to take them some way away .Collect them and take them a wee drive...on your bike,deposit them throughout your journey...mess with their head .

Slug pellets? Apparently sprinkling sand round your plants helps too. I live on the second floor and they made it up to my windowsill. Wee beasts!

In a garden or allotment, bury a bucket, or some large jars and plastic cups, so the the top edges are out at ground level. Slugs are highly attracted by the fermented malt and yeast in the beer, they will fall into the container and drown, possibly drunk.
