Why have I got so many pairs of them parading theirselves about my house 
What's the compulsion with being bought slippers? Cos I'm darn sure I wouldn't buy this many pairs myself

Next time she (or whoever it is visits) make sure all 50 pairs of them are on display, eg put a pair on each stair of the staircase - makes it look like you've run out of room in your usual slipper storage place (which you have ).
Alternatively, stop having Birthdays (this also ensures longevity ).
