Sky HD + red interactive button

I have Sky HD + but can't get my red interactive button to work with my new telly. I've phoned the so called customer services and having kept me on the phone for 10 minutes going through the usual turn on turn off procedures, the red button still won't work (I wanted to watch a rugby match on Sky sports 2 but you had to go through the interactive red button and choose the match otherwise you ended up with football).

I was then informed that it's a known fault and to just be patient and it'll be sorted out soon.

I'm a bit miffed by that statement but I was wondering how widespread is this problem and do any of you who have Sky HD+ have the same problem (the normal boxes are fine) before I write one of my Mrs Angry complaints to them

I don't have Sky HD+, but if you do a search on Google on "Sky HD" and "red button" you will see that there are others with the same problem, and have been for some time.

Looking at some of the posts, some people find that it works if you connect the tv to the box via HDMI cable, others are saying that it only works if you don't use HDMI, but use a scart cable instead. So it may be worth your while, if you have the cable, to try setting it up with the cable you are not currently using.

Oh damn I forgot to try this earlier, will try tomorrow if the red button flashes up anywhere and let you know.

Thanks Erin - have added to my collection.

I've googled a fair few sites and I think I know what the problem is but I haven't got the write hdmi connector to sort it out - will have to buy one tomorrow
