I have pre-ordered a complex vegetarian Wellington preparation. I'm not a vegetarian but the alternative was Turkey, without doubt, the least appetising protein source in existence.

I get a frozen turkey joint from Tesco. I really grudge paying per pound when most of it is carcass weight. Yep I'm stingy. 

We're also having roast beef this year.

Flippin heck, The leftovers will last you till Easter.

Frozen or fresh? Is there a difference? I know the price of frozen is cheaper but is the flavour different?

I have ordered an 11 lb free range fresh turkey from the local farm shop,
It is bigger than I need but it will provide loads of meals for me, my OH and our greedy ginger cat.

I have also ordered a joint of venison and will get a ham closer to the time...

Never tried this. What does it taste like?

It's gorgeous - a really rich texture - a little like beef. Does not taste at all gamey...
I roast it slowly in red wine and cover the top with bacon,
I then serve it with braised red cabbage, roast potatoes, brussels and parsnips.
I also make a little forcemeat from sausagemeat, lemon and thyme to go with it.

I'm having problems with my turkey I went on to M&S site earlier looking for my Christmas lattice topped boneless turkey, couldn't find it. Can't find any on Waitrose either *sobs* I think I'm looking in the wrong sections or summink? HELP!

Karms there is a boneless turkey in there -it is ready stuffed . You can print the order form off

Ohhhh does anyone know about sending stuff to the States? I want to send my friend an M&S Christmas Hamper - will it get broken into en route and any idea how long it will take?

It may not get there before xmas - but actually it should be fine cos M and S are really good at that sort of stuff.
