I love Frasier and 30 Rock
Agree about Porridge, wasn't Richard Beckinsale just gorgeous and Leonard Rossiter as Reggie Perrin & Rigsby- just brilliant. Also liked Ever Decreasing Circles. I actually think its the memory of it after college, watching it with my grandma that brings back lovely memories.
I actually cannot stand most sitcomes, "My family" must be the worst one ever and I loathe John Cleese and Fawlty Towers

IMO, the best and funniest American Sitcom ever, and I believe the most successful, which no-one seems to have mentioned yet: FRIENDS! Funny but no-one will admit to liking that now, like it's not cool to like it - or 'admit' you like it/liked it LOL. And yet at one time, (and not that long ago!) virtually everyone I knew or spoke to, loved it to bits, and bought calendars and mugs and memoribilia of all kinds, and all of the videos too!. It was very funny and charming and the characters were likeable and people could relate to them. Now though, the same people who liked it say 'oh God not that shit!' LOL. Somehow, it doesn't seem fashionable to admit you like it/liked it. I love it though and always have.

Also love:

the IT Crowd
The Inbetweeners
One foot in the grave
Only fools and horses
Bottom and The young ones (at the time I loved themm; haven't seen them for about 12 to 15 years.)
The good life
Rising damp
Bless this house
Three up two down
George and Mildred
Robin's nest
Me and my girl
Watching
Porridge
Dear John

Frasier was OK but I never got into it.

Also like Taxi and Cheers and Everybody loves Raymond.

Reference:
sitcoms don't seem the same these days
would you believe I was only watching Ever Decreasing Circles the other day and I said the exact same thing to my dad.  You don't see sitcoms anymore, it's all reality TV/talent shows or cookery programmes.  Must be too costly to produce them?

When I was younger I loved Brush Strokes
