Sinead O'Connor has sparked fears for her health after a number of tweets about wanting to end her life.

The Irish singer admitted feeling suicidal thoughts in the past, and has explained that a routine visit to her psychiatrist has made her wish she could "go to heaven".

She wrote: "Had to go psychiatrist for routine renew prescription etc. She says I'm a bad mum and mental for talking so openly about sex in public.

"All this s*** we're not supposed to say. Including suicidal feelings, sex, etc. U just get treated like a crazy person. I want to go To heaven SO bad. Have for years (sic)."

O'Connor has four children aged between four and 24, and added that she would like to kill herself without them finding out.

"But I don't wanna abandon my kids. But if I cud die without them knowing I did it myself I wud."

She then appeared to ask her fans to help her with ideas on how to commit suicide, saying: "Anyway.. If any1 knows how I can kill myself. Now I f****** wish suicide wud kill me".

Sinead O'Connor recently revealed that she would compete on The X Factor if starting out as an artist today.

Now I'm not religious in anyway, nor have i ever read the bible, but isn't there something about not "going to heaven if you kill yourself"?

She's always been an attention seeker.  She doesn't need to ask fans how to commit suicide, just jump off something tall or OD.  And she knows this!  It's not as if someone like her won't have access to tons of drugs to finish off the job.

Millions suffer from depression to varying degrees and it is an illness but it's quite irresponsible and quite selfish for a celebrity to try and glamorize suicide over the internet.  When we occasionally read about kids killing themselves over GCSEs etc, self indulgent attention seekers like O'Connor certainly don't help.

It seems to be a bit contradictory to commit these thoughts to such a publicly accessible place as Twitter if she is so keen to protect her children from discovering her suicidal thoughts. At the age range I'm presuming they are able to read her tweets, or hear about them from some other source.

I hope she gets the help she needs.

We know a song about that don't we? You say there ain't no use in livin' It's all a waste of time 'N you wanna throw your life away, well People that's just fine Go ahead on 'n get it over with then Find you a bridge 'n take a jump Just make sure you do it right the first time 'Cause nothin's worse than a Suicide Chump You say there ain't no light a-shinin' Through the bushes up ahead 'N we're all gonna be so sorry When we find out you are dead Go head on and get it over with then Find you a bridge 'n take a jump Just make sure you do it right the first time 'Cause nothin's worse than a Suicide Chump Now maybe you're scared of jumpin' 'N poison makes you sick 'N you want a little attention 'N you need it pretty quick Don't wanna mess your face up Or we won't know if it's you Aw, there's just so much to worry about Now what you gonna do? Go head on 'n get it over with then Go head on 'n get it over with then

OMG!!!!!

I'm guessing that advert (if it's on in your region) raises a few eyebrows then

(I'm wondering how I am going to explain away the fit of the giggles that I will inevitably get when it comes on my tellybox again!!)

I hear it as a polite Scottish accent saying "Good with food" rhyming with dude.

John Hannah does the voice over (stop all the clocks from 4 weddings & a funeral)

Might be that they use regional accents in each TV area

I never thought of that Slinki, so in which region would he say gud with fud?

Rexi?

Gawd knows Scottie - we certainly don't talk like that round here

And I think that's why it's soooo irritating, no one that I know talks like that. Usually I have an Olly-type rant every time I see the advert ... at least now I will have a bit  of a giggle
