Could you all hold my hand really tightly please , cos I’m find being so utterly helpless and alone very scary

Baz, hold on tight, (sorry if I squeezed to hard), all we can do is try hard and remember to at least appreciate the few smiles that might happen during each day, even if they are only good memories from the past.........xxx

Hi everyone!

I've actually been working from home since last Thursday. I'm in the "underlying health conditions" group, so like others here I was being careful before the official guidelines came in.

Work's a bit odd: line managers have been very good, but most of what I do requires being "hands-on" with equipment. At the moment, most of us are working remotely with a *ahem* skeleton staff in the office to support us when things have to be done manually. I was actually pretty busy today, and overall I've had a lot less free time than I'd have expected, so not much opportunity to potter around at home (or even outside if it had been possible ). However it's debatable how long that can be sustained for - not just for me, but for the whole department.

I popped outside the front door this evening to take part in the "Clap for our Carers", but had to come back in prematurely as I found it all rather emotional...

Day 13 in isolation

Only one day to go before day 14 is reached and (apparently) safety

Washing everything in soap that comes through the door - which is quite comical - never thought i'd wash a banana!!

Thank goodness the sun is breaking through - it seems to cheer up the whole street.

Up to now i'm not missing going out ... that's two weeks in - aherm

Hi everyone  still getting the full gamut of emotions in every day in every hour sometimes. There wasn't an 8 oclock thing here last night as most of my neighbours are doctors and nurses  YAY or disgusting rich scumbags who don't give a toss Boo

I was pleased to see so many neighbours joining me for the applause for NHS staff last night, it was heartwarming.

I’m really glad you aren’t showing any symptoms, Sainty

lol I know what you mean about washing everything. I treat absolutely anything that crosses my door as being contaminated. Every bit of packaging and every tin etc is being disinfected and any food that can be washed, is being washed.

Signing in .....fully anti bacc’tHope you are all ok .

I survived the run to the fracture clinic this morning ....and despite being a really complicated break ....which needed pins, plate and wire .....It’s all settled well apparently , and I am now in a boot. I have to spend another 6 weeks at various weight bearing stages , but effectively I’m discharged ....so no need for the hospital run ....thank goodness ! And on the plus side , I can now have a bath ....once we’ve worked out how to get me up the stairs

Uh-oh! Hope you've other ways of entertaining yourself!!

Our internet went down for about 45 minutes during my work day last week, and I was delighted to retire to the couch with a book.

Day 14 in isolation

I'm free (apparently) of the 'lurgy' despite the worst headache of my life a week ago and an intermittent sore throat ... and quite horrific contact dermatitis around my eyes making it difficult to see lol.

Otherwise i feel fine  And not missing going out at all

Only about 6 months to go . . .

And then my sister said she's now a "front line" carer - her wages have been increased (a lot), she has a special 'pass' to allow her to shop at 6.30am before anyone else and is in the "at risk" group.

She must be mad
