I suspect the motivation behind it isn't so much flouncing/attention seeking, but more a case of not wishing to be somewhere you're not wanted.

A few weeks ago, I went through a protracted period of endless blazing cyber rows with a couple of tag-team FMs. I was very vocal on here and stubbornly determined to stand up to them. But gradually it occurred to me that in being so vocal & argumentative with these people, I was starting to become a pain in the butt to the majority of FMs.

That's why I started a similar thread to yours. I would also hate to intrude and be somewhere I'm not welcome. Yes, it's a public forum. No, it's not RL. Yes, ultimately, it's only words on a screen. But, despite all this, let's not forget that human emotions figure in the equation too.

There are times on here when the obvious dislike felt towards me is an almost palpable entity. But these times are far outweighed by the crazy/surreal/mentalist threads, when I sit with tears of laughter on my face.

For every 1 person you may feel is against you there are probably at least 10 who do enjoy your being here. Keep that thought, maybe?
