When we feel passionate about something and others disagree immensely in mass, it's not always about "cliques".
It's about many people feeling the same as one another and just as passionate about their opposing opinion.
I think people often need to learn the art of debate and accept thats what it is and move on when said debate is finished.
and if someone is rude just tell them to politely **** off.
Exactly..why flounce? If it's all got a bit too much and you're fed up take a break for a while then come back when you're ready ...easy.
Personally forruming got a bit stale for me recently...so I haven't posted for 7 days .. no-one missed me...and I certainly didn't feel I had to make an announcement about it
you always wanted to do a flounce and look at you... *big proud grin* ... it was lacking a list though...
I don't always agree with your opinions but I think you're fab...
Stay..

I have enjoyed it on here at times but today especially has been very draining, I'm not really into the aggro that I suppose is part of forum life.
Maybe forums just aren't my thing.
Take a couple of days off, you might regain your vigour and appetite for it again.
Don't let one bad day spoil the experience for you. You've said you've enjoyed it at times, if you find yourself drained then just click off and try not to stew over it. Tomorrow is another day and it might be entirely different.
That sounds like the thing to do.
Stay away for a while and see which is stronger, the bad taste or the forum withdrawal symptoms.

Ah, I did wonder why I wasn't craving Pepsi Max so much!

It depends what you're looking for CO. There are lots of threads on here where it's nothing but fun and friendliness if thats what you want? But you also said earlier that you like to debate. It's the ideal place for that too but only if you don't take it too seriously. There are always going to be people who disagree with you and there will always be people who are rude in their responses. Maybe you just need to walk away from the thread rather than the forum?

No one missed me after 7 months! I shed a small tear but I managed to move on!
Ah... I'm guessing this is the result of going into the serious news & politics threads.
Tis why I don't! Good practise for when Big Brother starts though... maybe I should!

At the end of the day it's words on a screen and you can switch your off button...walk away and come back when you are ready to...no law says you have to post day after day...if you aren't happy about something then leave it...believe me in a couple of days it's on about page 45 and forgotten because of the next "big" topic that's taken over
Stay.......
Voice you're opinions, but accept they won't always be agreed with, some voice disagreement in a pleasant way some don't....
The trouble with the written word is that often, the same words can be read differently by different people.
Stay and enjoy xx

I don't know you Comrade, in fact I don't know anyone on here really, I had a shit week with work, I'd been putting off an important spreadsheet for day's, I came on here for an hour or two today in what I thought was a calligraphy thread, laughed so much, Thanks to the hussey tart darling scotty, left the thread and finally completed my spreadsheet. I find the forum therapeutic. Sometimes the humour on here is better than watching the telly, if I were you I'd stay, you would be missing so much, we can't all agree or it would be boring. Loads of lovely people on here.
chants, name names, name names, name names, name names.

Do you think we should start a training plan? 30 minutes of debate threads per day, increasing to 24 hours by a week on Thursday?

absolutely.
I voted no, don't go, and mediocre.
Haven't been here much today, so haven't seen your posts. So can't comment on what has gone on today.
I've posted in threads you've been in before, and though we don't always have the same point of view or opinion, I like your posts, and a lot of the time the way you think. So naturally, I'm going to say don't go. Take a break for a few days. Come back feeling fresh and fit.

whoooo well I dunno I really hope I aint included in the 'clique' bit,
cause IF I dont agree with someone, ANYONE I will say so,
yeah it can be hard when you find yourself backed into a corner
fending off multiple posters ALL demanding a response to THEIR
questions, and its only natural to feel a bit ganged up on, but ya should
just try to stay calm n answer when n how ya can.
but your 'clique' comment is a no win situation and a bit unfair, so if 4 people dont agree with you and say so they are a clique?
personally I think you are a good poster and should stay, what a
boring place this would be if we all ageed 100% of the time!
sometimes it helps to grow a thick skin around here.

woops wrong thread.
I think if 2 people are having a debate or a disagreement people coming in saying well i think so and so is right or i don't think so and so meant anything by that is just plain annoying IMO if you know those people post together on a regular basis

No you're not included.

Well that's what I'm finding draining and if I stay I don't think I can realistically expect anything to change there.
Hey CO ... all I can say is that I enjoy your posts. Don't always agree but how boring would that be?
There are one or two here who don't get on with me but we seem to avoid each other and if anyone decides to take offence at anything I might say I just move on.

dont go OP!!!!! Dont be hounded out of here. U have a right to speak as much as anyone else. I have read THAT thread today (took ages) - it WAS interrupted by a 'below the belt' off the subject statement - which WAS well out of order!
That 'out of order' statement was referring to another thread, that u, like I are quite passioniate about.
Dont be hounded out of here just because others dont like ur point of view

It does my head in too when arse licking goes on, but I'd never consider leaving... I just sit back in my chair and point and .
Unfortunately it's going to happen in all aspects of life forum, work, school etc...just try and chill

I put it to you fellow FMs...
I personally stay clear of your strongly held views, at the same time I have enjoyed reading some of your other posts.
So it is
No
&
mediocre
for me.
no one should feel 'drained' from tinterwebs, surely it's not real, just chill, have a nice glass of wine and watch the telly, read a book, go into a silly thread and write about clunge for a bit!
I'd like to point out you first response to my agreeing with another FM tonight was the reply 'BUTT OUT' which is hardly in the interest of pursuing forum friendliness, perhaps you should consider how you come across? There was I in my house a bit taken aback at how I was immediately spoken to.
Just a bit of food for thought. I realise you are licking your largely self inflicted wounds but if you are gonna give it be prepared to take it. However what happened tongiht was a few folk agreed and they happened to disagree with you and you immediately thought some 'clique' was there to belittle you which was very paranoid imo. I have posted on here quite a bit today and twice on other days in the past since it opened and know nothing of your history with other fm's yet I stand as part of this so called 'clique' who you allege came out in force to belittle you tonight.

yep i can understand that very annoying because how can they possibly know what so and so meant or didn't mean unless they are either with that poster at the time or that poster is them
don't forget BB starts soon it's every man for himself then

Now that's kind of ironic because the OP claimed to know exactly what was meant him/herself........quote:Originally posted by Shizzlex:

Call that ready?
You need to get yourself one of these my girl....
*whispers* I know where I can get my hands on a pink one if you prefer?
Perhaps it's a matter of rotten timing as well, just lately it feels like my life is falling apart so.. maybe at another time things might seem different. I suppose I was looking for some distraction and got flamed, wound up and not in the humour for it.
i'm suprised he won American Idol

Look, I really don't see any of it as a big deal at all. Sorry if you're mega offended.

dont be making excuses for yourself. IMO you WERE picked on quite wrongly yesterday/today. The thread u were posting in had NOTHING to do with the other one
