Lordy -that's young. Do we know what he died of?

Apparently he underwent FOUR operations to try and remove a brain tumour, as well as radiotherapy treatment.

This is very sad news. He seemed like a lovely man, was a brilliant golfer and a great ambassador for his sport

Oh that's sad.     I didn't realise he was only 54.      My mum used to have the hots for him..... she'd have been 80 if she was still with us... dirty old mare!

awwww no. I remember the atmosphere when he won the Open at St Andrews, it was brilliant ,( and so was he! ) , the whole place went crazy when he sunk that putt on the 18th to win. Was such a shame he wasn't well enough to make it back to St Andrews last year .

So sad to hear about Seve - what a struggle he had.

We were lucky enough to see him play at many tournaments over the years - he was an absolute gentlemen who always made time for his fans.

One of the best golfers ever.

So young at 54.  Still, most of his life was good, doing what he loved and living the lifestyle dream of millions.  Not a bad life really. Still, a tragically very young age to die.  RIP Seve

True ......................still very sad he died so young - but how wonderful to live a life doing what you love and getting paid vast sums. No consolation at all for dying so young but I guess he had a good life.

Absolutely Soozy Woo, a rich but short life full of achievement, experience and pleasure, is perhaps better than a long life with all the cruel ailments the ageing process can bring.

I hate golf culture.  Liked watching this lad though
