Irish stand-up star and BBC quiz show panellist Sean Hughes has died aged 51.
Richard Bucknall, his former agent and promoter, said the "formidable" comic died in hospital on Monday and would be remembered for his "superb wit".
Hughes was a team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks on BBC Two and had his own Channel 4 sitcom, Sean's Show.
How sad and only 51.

He had cirrhosis of the liver - and had previously quit alcohol
Dunno if he went back to it but he said drinking was a daily occurrence for many of his friends where he was born
Very sad to hear. I liked him in everything he did. He struck me as one of those 'stars' who wasn't up himself. 51 is so young to go and I didn't know he had an alcohol problem. RIP Sean.
Heard about this at lunchtime, and have taken a while to get my head around it.
As everyone's said, it's desperately sad - especially given his age.
A genuinely funny bloke who'll be missed.
