It`s YES for me. Cannae take yet another decade of my life and my country`s life being ruled by London and whatever government England`s vote imposes upon us.  We must take this chance. It`s our time to be free.

Considering  an awful lot of our  politicians/PM's/Ministers are Scottish, I don't fully understand your dis-quiet.....

Me neither. .plus they have their own laws, their own parliament and get to stick their nose in the UK one too. . they have the best of both worlds atm... tho my feeling is that if they hate being part of the United Kingdom I am quite happy for them to bugger off and take their MP's with them ..  oh and close their purse to UK national handouts too..

I think it is such a shame that they want to break the Union up.. I am no historian but it's a good few hundreds of yrs old isn't it? I am first and foremost British, born of two immigrant parents and that just happened to occur in England, it could have been in any country of the union. and am sad to see this happening..

My guess is the vote will be close but I think Scotland will vote to stay as part of the Union.

If Scotland does go it alone, it will be easier for the Tories to gain and keep power in the UK(well,what's left of it).

But all you lovely people north of the border now is chance to exercise you opinion in the ballot box.

Thanks you Xochi  Like my Mother before me (she was the minute secretary for our local SNP in the 60`s) I have never voted for anything other than independence. 

If the whole of Scotland voted labour and only an 1/8 of England voted Tory. Central government would be Tory. That`s undemocratic. Hence.....

Oh, I can see the attraction of voting  for independent Scotland, I would too if I were Scottish.

Also doesn't Scotland have a different legal system ? Its based more on Napoleonic law like France, than England and Wales. So that's another deep seated difference.

It would be quite nice to stick two fingers up to the [likely] next Tory/Lib Govt... you couldn't be any worse off, put it that way

I will be voting NO. 

I am proud of my Scottish roots and heritage but I believe we are better off in the union. 

Can we all be so sure of what our yes/no decision will be? After all, we havem't yet heard the full arguments for both sides!

Living in Scotland under Thatcher and watching her sucking the last drop of blood out of it wasn't very edifying. As for sticking their nose in, I don't know a Scot who is interested enough.

Westminster is not England oriented, it is London oriented. Nothing much matters outside London and its close environs!

I was listening to an interview on Sunday with the Proclaimers and they are hoping for a no vote, but they said where does that leave a lot on the Northern Counties of England..  even the Scottish understand how we feel, but most of the south haven't a clue  If it is a yes vote it works out for Scotland
