They will, or a great deal of it....and will fall over themselves in their haste to backtrack as much as possible.

Thanks for the hugs though.

It can't have been easy to be outnumbered on here and I know you will be disappointed with the result, but you fought your corner well and held your own, and you retained your sense of humour throughout.

I don't think it's entirely over, I think inadvertently Mr Salmond has done  us all a favour, I doubt the Westminster 3 will be allowed to forget the inducements offered to Scotland, which btw I think were pretty ineffectual in the grand scheme of things, I think the Welsh and the N.Irish  and possibly the English regions are going to make sure it's not forgotten, because they will want some of that too.

that's exactly what's on the news at the moment   I'm all for devolved powers to English cities or regions

although considering Brum is broke not sure Westminster will send them any powers/money soon

I didn't hear the speech, but did he not say he was giving similar power to England, NI and Wales?

that's a bit harsh, Erin.   I'm delighted with the result, but I appreciate that a lot of people that I know and respect didn't and I don't think it's out of order to show a bit of empathy.   If the positions had been reversed I'd have appreciated someone acknowledging that it wasn't easy for me.

It's about me feeling some empathy for Fluffs, who was pretty much a lone YES supporter on here. Even though I don't share her views on independence, I know she is passionate in her beliefs, just I am in mine. I feel for her, because I know how disappointed I would have been if the shoe had been on the other foot this morning and there had been a YES vote. Not sure if I've explained that very well but I know what I mean.

I got two hours  I'm over the moon we are still a union, but I'm sad that it came to this and sorry for those that are devastated at the result Being a spit away from the border I would have been heartbroken if Scotland had left the Union, so I can well imagine how those that wanted independence must feel

A massive  hugs for them and hopefully by standing together we can stop the Westminster party and I am talking about the shower of sh*t from all sides of the house.

As much as I wanted a no vote I'm really rather pleased that there was a significant Yes vote, as a result hopefully things will change to the advantage of many others, not just the Scots.
