You can see her mistake written all over her face, there is no disguising the fact that she knows we all heard what she said.

I'm just so upset I had to actually listen to Sky News for 39 seconds as I couldn't work out what k**b stood for

Sky news is a load of crap, hence me never watching it after a few glimpses in the past when I saw them always talking a load of bullocks

I'm sure you've all been waiting for my pearls of wisdom on the matter.

So. If I was living in Scotland and under, let's say 30 years old, I'd probably say Yay! The heart ruling the head, and why not.

If was living in Scotland, 40+ years old and more neurotic about life, making choices on behalf of many close ones and making hazardous decisions in haste, I say Noo the noo.

In other words, I see the merits of both outcomes and the dangers too.

In Saint's immortal words, 'I hope that helps'.

Just on catch up with this thread and didn't see the programme either but could he have meant in terms of how far it goes as opposed to other places where the cost of living is a lot higher?  There is a huge difference in prices for a lot of things across the UK

I just caught a bit of it and I think he said Wales gets the better from healthcare and London on housing benefit or something    I think he was meaning in terms of money per capita on each service - i.e. there's differing requirements for different things in different areas.   I assumed the north had a higher proportion of pensions, London had a bigger proportion in supported housing etc.   Could be wrong though..

Thanks you two

seems like it KT, it's emotive here on the border too. Some feel as if they are deserting us and we're in no-mans land  I just want them to stay, was surprising to here northerners on both sides of the coast saying they felt more akin to the Scots than Westminster

There's a lot of that going on down here too (just over the river in Cornwall). Ppl feel removed from London because London removes itself from the ppl.

Got this in my email today:

Survation for the Daily Record release their final poll on the Scottish independence referendum. Fieldwork was conducted 16-17th September by telephone.

Headline voting intention (with change in brackets since our last comparable poll on 13 September):

Yes - 43%

No - 48%

Don't know - 9%

Excluding Don't knows:

Yes - 47%

No - 53%

A Note on Methodology

This poll was conducted by telephone and is therefore comparable to our last telephone poll on 13 September and should not be compared to any polls conducted online.
This poll was conducted by telephone using a systematic random sample of mobiles and landlines, ordered by key strata to reflect the eligible Scottish population. These strata were: age, sex, local authority, income and employment status.

Though the poll managed to reach 1266 respondents, it has an effective sample size of 1089. This is due to the sampling strategy employed, which aimed to mitigate some of the biases associated with contacting respondents via landlines. After interviewing a first person via landline, households with multiple eligible occupants were asked for a second response within the household. A Kish Grid was used to assign the eligible participant at random. These double household responses were accounted for in the weighting strategy by applying a factor of 0.5 to both respondents’ weights.

Mobile respondents were not asked for a second response. For first household respondents and mobile respondents, only those originally drawn into the sample were invited to to take part in the survey. Other answerers were not interviewed.
