Me too It's very confusing though , cos I thought they were saying earlier that he was ok

I've just looked for the F1 fred but can't find it.  This is awful. I didn't like the guy, I thought he was arrogant but obviously I don't want anything like this to happen 

they did at first Baz...and said it happened when he stepped off the ski lift, Maybe more info is getting through now... I wish him well 

I'm sure they said earlier that his injuries weren't serious.

I have news feeds on my phone. The Guardian were saying serious injury whereas the BBC were saying not serious!!!

 Grenoble-based newspaper Le Dauphiné Libéré said on Sunday night that according to unnamed sources, the retired world champion's injuries had worsened and were now "life threatening". The report could not immediately be confirmed, but earlier the 44-year-old German was said to be suffering from a "severe brain trauma". Other French media reported that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage.

It came after a top brain surgeon from Paris, Gérard Saillant, arrived at the hospital to attend to Schumacher, who had been wearing a helmet when he fell on his head on the unmarked slope at the Méribel resort on Sunday morning. Saillant is a family friend who had treated Schumacher following an accident at Silverstone in 1999.

Apparently his wife has left the hospital and has said he is ok but that they are obviously worried. I guess she would still be there if it was critical??? My eldest is glued to the F1 forums and is updating us constantly...fingers crossed for Schuey.

They said that about Natasha Richardson.

Reports that he was conscious at scene then had a haemoragge (sp?) On arrival at hospital and is now in coma.

Now saying his wife is still there, along with rest of his family...and that he is fighting for his life.

His management have confirmed coma and critical condition.

This is the statement from the University Hospital of Grenoble which confirms the 44-year-old is in a coma.

"Mr Schumacher was admitted to the University Hospital of Grenoble at 12:40pm, following a skiing accident which occurred in Meribel in the late morning," the statement said.

"He suffered a severe head injury with coma on arrival, which required immediate neurosurgical intervention. He remains in a critical situation."

He is an F1 freak...wants to work for a team on the design side (got to have a dream!) and is glued to his pooter at the moment, waiting for news.

he can do it Mrs B... just needs the right break. My daughters ex-boyfriend worked for Ford Motor Sport...lucky break, but dream job and traveled all over with Colin MacRae before he tragically died

Hey.....why not. Hami started out a bit like that   wanted to race for Mclaren.......that sort of thing 

The hospital said,

I have a colleague who has been interviewed by McLaren for a job in computing. So there is always a chance.

just stick in EC and sometimes the breaks come  Luckily Malcolm Wilson is local and my daughters ex was already working for him when he got the Ford contract and things took off for him.

I wish him well and hope he's ok, but I don't personally know the man and was no way taking the Micheal out of the seriousness of the situation.
