Yeah I'm feeling musical tonight!

Wonder what songs take you back to those days of school discos, for me there are so many but I'll start with:-

YMCA
Grease soundtrack
Ooops upside your head
D.I.S.C.O.
I'm in the mood for dancing
Dancing Queen
I will survive
Tainted Love
Don't you want me
One in Ten
Ghost Town
One step beyond

and many many more..

Yeah showing my age now!

Replies sorted oldest to newest

My favourite slow ones were

Always and forever
Three times a lady
Reunited
Jealous Guy
Shes out of my life
One day in your life
and the last dance at ours for some reason was always Ben, if you hadnt found someone to snog by that point, all hope was lost!

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love that song! Luther Vandross was criminally under-mourned by the masses!

I might hang myself in his honour!

My first 'boyfriend' bought me that on vinyl when I was 12 but my mate Martina told me he fancied my mate Julia so I threw it back at him.

He sent me a nice letter saying my mate Martina was just jealous and he'd never heard of this Julia girl and wishing me luck with my ingrowing toenail. Laugh

School discos, perish the thought. We were the first to have a disco at our Graduation which was held in the school hall. Luckily I wasn't on the committee that decided that but they were hauled over the coals about it.
The DJ dared to play My Boy Lollipop (it was his sig tune at the time.
We all got the Golden Rules of the Dancehall after that. Ninja

Our final year song was Meatloaf's 2 outa 3 ain't bad.

Laugh I'm laughing about that song. We had a Religion class by the same Nun that gave us the Golden Rules of the Dancehall and an All Time Favs was being done on a radio station.
One of the girls in the class was listening to a radio under her desk with earphones going up her arm under her cardigan. I'll never forget the moment 2 outa 3 was named as No 1.
She jumped with excitement, hit her knees on the desk and her books flew up and she said "****" forgetting she had the earphones in and her voice would be louder than normal. The trollop.
We all wet ourselves laughing and were never forgiven.

Dear Prudence won't you come out to play!

Robert Smith always cites her as a huge influence and I so love The Cure's Friday I'm In Love.
