The only ones I ever buy are yankee candle tarts and those glade (I think) glass jar ones with the pink love hearts on them.  The yankee tarts are only ÂĢ1 and I break a wee bit off and use them int he oil burners.....they last ages!  I've bought all different scents in them and have had some lovely ones and some not so pleasant ones.  I mainly like the pastel coloured ones and hate the food and xmas scented ones

My OH's friend sent him some soya melt (I think?) things for the oil burners aswell from Australia and I decided to first try out the cinnamon one first because it's xmas but I didn't like it.  I've got quite a few left though but they're all fruit scents so I'm not sure if I'll like them.

Oh I got some yankee candles, just the small ones and burned them this xmas, the really really smelled. They were even strong just out of the wrapper, just on display. Although i did burn them quickly, they were not sitting around a lot.

I also got an airwick or a some such one from tesco (with a plastic christmassy sleeve round it) that was surprisingly good, it still smells now.  Ive never been impressed with those ones before but these were great. They have them on sale now for about ÂĢ2.50 in tesco, so im going to get a few extra.

I don't like the jars for that reason Baz, it's why I use the tarts.

I love the fresh linen one in Spring  Just the thought of it makes me smile lol.

What are the tarts please Ells?

I've bought Asda, Tesco and M + S - pretty much the same - the "red" smelly  tealights

- Asda = they smell nice, of berries as they say

- Tesco = they smell in the pack, not so much when then they burn

- M + S Clove and Cinnamon - Maybe its just me,  but they smell horrible - a horrible churchy smell, they make me wanna go to confession, then get the hell out  Just  a pungent smell - but not a nice smell. I'm sorry I bought these as presents.

I wouldn't like the M&S ones either rosie, they sound stinky.

Same here.. i love the thought of them, but can't bear the reality.

Add me to the list too AND especially if they're foodie smells

I've got loads of Jo Malone candles but I never light them (they look pretty enough dotted around the bathrooms etc though).  The only scented candles I can just about cope with are plain ones squirted with a bit of my perfume.  Obviously you have to spray and wait for them to dry, then light to give off a subtle scent.

I was sooooo good, I didn't buy any

well, I didn't buy any candles ... I bought loads of other stuff - I even got a  few Christmas presents for next year

Will you remember though? I know if i bought anything for this time next year i'd either lose them or forget where I put them!
