I read that Darlo - great news! I'm not so sure about Alesha as a judge though, even though I do like her. Arlene annoyed me, but at least she's got years of experience.

I think with Alesha they're trying to attract the younger audience, she's a lovely person I voted for her to win lol but also she has been through the show as a celeb so will know how they are feeling and can give them advice but I do think it could backfire.

Alesha was great, but that doesn't make her an expert. I thought the BBC behaved very badly in this case. Good news about that Sunday nonsense being abolished though.

The only reason they abandoned the Sunday show is money and the cost, I bet.

They did say it wasn't popular with the viewers and I know it certainly wasn't with the fans on here. Some smart ass always posted a spoiler. It's all in one show now - much better imo.

Hello missus - it just said 'September' in the article I read.

Ooh hope thats true Big Grin, can't wait for it to come back.

Last year it ran from 20th Sept to 20th Dec.

agree Nod how exactly are the professional dancers going to react to Alesha's criticism? I know if I'd had years of dancing experience and won lots of competitions and a celebrity with a few months worth of dancing tells me how to dance or gives me her insights, I'd know what I'd say to her Ninja

I like Alesha but the way but this is a terrible decision Nod

I am pleased there will be no Sunday show.
Nobody was ever convinced that it was happening - everyone knew it was taped on Saturday.
I often found Arlene Philips embarrassing with her UNfunny, rehearsed and badly delivered comments. But I still wish they had retained her.
I wonder what role Alesha is expected to fill.
Will she comment on dresses, entertainment etc?
But I thought that was the viewers job.
Hence the split voting system - judges for dancing, viewers for dancing and entertainment.
I`m not sure how the professional dancers will feel about hearing comments from someone with less experience than thselves.
Are we going to hear Alesha say "You did a toe when you should have done a heel" or "Your hips were not square on to your body" or "Your flicks did not come from the knee."
I don`t envy her.

I wish they had got rid of the wailing singers.
Looking forward to it.

I agree with all those sentiments. For as much I loved Alesha and though she was a brilliant winner, it's a bit of a slap in the face to have her as a judge.

I don't think anyone Blames Alesha Darlo and yes the BBC are to blame. I also think the BBC are under the illusion that it's youngsters that mostly pay the licence fee when in actual fact it's mostly us oldies and gosh, shock, horror women too Ninja

Excellent point about the professional dancers. They will have to bite their tongues a lot won't they? Clapping

This gives an excellent insight into Jay Hunt
Jay Hunt

ah she's the one from the news a few weeks ago who has been giving contracts courtesy of the licence fee and both her current husband and her ex-husband have benefited. Smells as bad as the MPs expenses Nod

I agree it is not Alesha`a fault; it is the BBCs.
But I bet she feels a bit uncomfortable with all the fuss going on - and I believe being paid more than the other judges. (Is that true?)
I would have been happier with a professional dancer such as Karen Hardy or Camilla Dallerup, both of whom are not competing this year.

Yes, Karen or Camilla would have been good choices. No-one's blaming Alesha, she's probably in for quite a rough ride.

They will be thinking what the hell when Alesha has her say but will respect her opinion although the celeb will be more interested in what she has to stay. Alesha is popular with all the pros but they must be secretly seething at the whole thing.

Me too - and I KNOW I read somewhere that someone has dropped out already, but I can't remember who it was. Darlo... get in here!

It was Richard Madeley I was thinking of. Didn't even know he was meant to be in it until he dropped out! Sharon Osbourne also quit. I think Natalie Cassidy is this year's Eastender.... if she's still there.
