God I must be getting old her summet (I am getting old), I just don't get the support for people that rip other peoples personality, looks, weight etc to bits.

I love put downs done tactfully without malice, but some of these lot are just vile

I don't think Sam's trying to be witty he's just the cat amongst the pigeons talking straight, and talking straight to people's faces not behind their backs. Some of the things he said to Josie weren't very nice at all but I think he's just emotionally inexperienced to believe she would take it as banter. I also think she made the absolute most out of every situation too. She's desperate to win at any costs.

Well said! I am sick of idiots like Sam getting applauded for the nasty comments, with people saying he is just 'real' and 'honest,' and calling people who are NOT complete bastards 'boring...'

At this stage I think the clever and urbane Oscar Wilde type wits would be lost on who is left there. Sam is telling them what he thinks of them in sentences they all understand and in a direct manner to cause maximum impact.

I woke up with that nagging nasal whine of his stuck in my head. 'Joe-see, Joe-see' hes annoying me even faster than I thought he would. On the other hand he has livened things up. I enjoyed all the banter about 'saving him for SAR '
