Is it only me or is anyone else deeply annoyed at the way they keep trotting out the "Buy before VAT goes up!" bolleaux?
It's another £2.50 per £100 spent, more or less. The shops will be dead dead desperate later on and most of us are capable of getting the extra VAT knocked off as well as any other discount.
Further amusement was gained in reading the Argos sale Brochure where they were knocking out an iPod at +£15 the normal price.

It sounds good to me ..or am I missing something
I hear you Shampoo Jer! Was saying the same thing yesterday. The retailers are rubbing their mitts at the sounds of those tills. It's a clever ploy to get the economy booming.

You are right Jo and I am not taking any notice cos the chances are they will find more ways to get us to part with our money in some sort of pre season sale..
True Joe, though I do plan to pur chase the Tag I have my eyes on before the VAT goes up.... might be a decent amount on summat like that
Nah - it doesn't deeply annoy me - I feel all shopped-out atm and don't want to set foot into another one for a week or two. But I don't blame retailers for trying any old trick in the book in order to make a sale.
I've been back in work since yesterday and both times when I've been out on my break, the town was heaving with shoppers. Mayhem!

I finally saved up all the money, and found out the jewellers offer a 0% interest free payment plan, d'oh! I'll still be using that though, might as well be sitting in my savings account as their accounts
