I said it before earlier, but I'm surprised that Wills isnt wearing a ring. Is there any reason for this does anyone know?
Nice choice of song on BBC highlights
I thought so too (and I'm not that keen on TT..! ).
Wonder what Phil and Harry were laughing about on the balcony.
That's mischief in stereo in the making....

I'm sure someone said he's just not keen on wearing jewellery, except his watch.
What a great choice of song on the BBC montage!
I had to turn it over Soozy... I can't listen to that song. One of my son's classmates who died from from Muscular Dystrophy (aged 10) chose it for her funeral... it still makes me cry!
(I suppose i could have watched it with the sound down.... I have only just thought of that... but I panicked & told Mr D to turn it over)
Ok... this post is a bit mood hoovery... no sad smilies or anything required... just saying (besides... the little girl that died would not be happy about sad faces... she banned sad faces from her funeral)
Oh blimey Ditty!
The view from that old bomber plane was brilliant.
And Kate said "perfect formation" when the jets flew over.
I'm loving re-watching the highlights; catching things I missed first time around.
PS. I'm a no hat person - and even less of a fascinator one.
What about a clasp or a kirby grip?
I ain't Shirley Temple..!
Anyway, I thought Prince Charles used to go jogging so checked it out.
Came across this on another forum and nicked it, for everyone's amusement - or not
Prince Charles decided to take up jogging.
Every day, he'd jog past a hooker standing on the same street corner.
He learned to brace himself as he approached her for what was almost certain to follow.
"One hundred and fifty pounds!" she'd shout from the kerb.
"No! five pounds!" He would fire back, just to shut her up.
This ritual between him and the hooker became a daily occurrence.
He'd run by and she'd yell, "One hundred and Fifty Pounds!"
He'd yell back, "Five pounds!"
One day, Camilla decided that she wanted to accompany her 'husband' on his jog. As the jogging couple neared the working woman's street corner, Prince Charles realised she'd bark her ÂĢ150 offer and Camilla would wonder what he'd really been doing on all his past outings. He figured he'd better have a good explanation for his wife.
As they jogged into the turn that would take them past the corner, he became even more apprehensive than usual. Sure enough, there was the hooker. He tried to avoid the prostitute's eyes as she watched the pair jog past.
Then, from her corner, the hooker yelled, "See what you get for your five pounds, you tight git?!

Sorry!
Do you know what? William is a fine young man - he will be a great King.
Yeah, I reckon so I think it's to do with compassion....something his mother has taught him obviously
He has the knack of knowing how to do the right thing and has that common touch. But at the same time he is aware of royal protocol.
Hmm, forgive my cynicism!
Prince Charles was presented like that back in the day. He could break dance and liked the Three Degrees! He was down with discotheque set and went jogging on Bondi Beach. He was caring and sharing and talked to his plants. He even presented kid's story show, Jackanory. Diana apparently advised him to wear single breasted suits, not like the stuffy old generation of royals. What a nice bloke!
IMO really not the same at all. We all knew Charles was a stuffed shirt - he always looked a bit of a div when he was trying to look cool. As I said ................notv the same at all IMO.

Ah, I was wondering if it was a protocol thing again. Thanks Yogi
Best picture of the day.
LOL Mincey -she was singularly unimpressed..
Anyway, I thought Prince Charles used to go jogging so checked it out.
Carnelian - that is very very naughty
Do you think Harry says "Wait til you see what she's got on"..?
He definitely teases William (because he mustn't sneak a peep, I suppose).

I was trying to find the words to say exactly the same thing. There are more anti threads than pro threads so just piss off.

There were many bits that I loved about today - this was one of them
Sorry!
I am completely traumatised by Beatrice's toilet seat hat

According to a lipreader he said "Right Will, she's here now"
But yours would have been better

Without a warped, oversexed mind...I agree.....

It was as if he couldn't resist.....and did his a bro a favour by just checking...
Then again, I bet Wills was super confident about how she would look.
I am completely traumatised by Beatrice's toilet seat hat
I noticed she was almost bent double in the car on the way there - the hat was clearly too big for the car
Its Eugenie I can't get over - why did she think that was a good look

Oh well done, Miss S I knew it was something 'positive' by the expression on Harry's face.

That was presented as his charm and endearing awkwardness. Of course they're not the same, I'm just pointing out that the state funded royal PR machine was working its magic back in 1981.
fascinator
I think in years to come we will look back on the 'fascinator' & have a good laugh at some of them & some will also

That's not very friendly on this wonderful day for all patriots, is it? God's representatives on Earth have got married for the wonderment of all us great unwashed little people! I thought you'd be full of goodwill bonhomie to all!
Anyway, I'm orrfff, forelock untugged and all!
A snippet from the Daily Mail:
Among all the fantastic outfits and array of dizzying hats on display at the Royal Wedding, there were unfortunately a few that failed to pass muster.
Leading the way in the fashion faux pas were Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, who chose bravely but perhaps unwisely judging by the response of royal fans and pundits.
The girls are known to love experimenting with fashion, but perhaps today wasn't the time.
Beatrice's taupe Valentino Haute Couture dress and matching coat were elegant, but her headpiece was deemed to be a ludicrous addition, perching on her forehead at an impossible angle and detracting from her sophisticated outfit.
Her hat, which celebrity bridal stylist Camilla Ridley-Day suggests was the wrong shape for her face, has already sparked a Facebook group named Princess Beatrice's Ridiculous Hat, with members mocking up pictures of the Princess with monsters on her head

it was a bit rude TBH but ...........why bring negativity into a nice thread when there are plenty of more sneeering threads that it would have been applauded?
Carnelian in all seriousness I completely respect the fact you do not like the royal family and all the pomp etc but please please, there are loads of threads where you can say your piece.
Please let us have this one.
i think its been a good day, ive enjoyed my day!

Cosi - I really feel for her - well both of them,They are both so ungainly and with their mother not in the loop at all, who can they turn to?

Me too justa
Oh well done, Miss S I knew it was something 'positive' by the expression on Harry's face.
At the altar, William said "you look beautiful" and then joked "we were suppposed to be having a small family affair"
.
Eugenie looked better at the Wedding Eve dinner:
And here's Beatrice:
I agree with that piece ............................Beatrices outfit was lovely ......................and then she chose to ;put that monstrosity on her head.
Eugenie .............................eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeugh from top to bottom.

I don't think they are ungainly ... when they got out of the car to go into the palace they both held their heads up and walked beautifully and elegantly.
Someone advised them very badly today

Can't we hang it out til a week next Tuesday?
Guys - this is the funniest thing ever.I found it by accident - please watch the whole thing. You will not regret it
I said it before earlier, but I'm surprised that Wills isnt wearing a ring. Is there any reason for this does anyone know?
The official reason is "He isn't one for jewellery."
It's certainly not protocol - Charles wears a wedding ring. However it's not that common either (Prince Philip doesn't).
Men wearing wedding rings is a suprisingly new thing - it only became really common in the post-war years. My father doesn't wear a ring, and I've known a few older work colleagues who don't wear one.

That's a tall order, Syd. Is there a specific reason for next Tuesday? Or are you eke-ing out the Bank Holiday vibe..?
My husband had a wedding ring but ...............it was impractical for work ...........over the years (34) it got lost.No big deal really.

I don't think Men wore wedding rings til the 70's (I may be wrong).....and the Royals would stick to Historical tradition....

Apologies to Carnelian for my outburst last night - I got caught up in the moment
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge depart Buckingham Palace the morning after their wedding
this morning they left Buckingham Palace by helicopter for an undisclosed destination.
Two lads from our village were involved in the wedding. One was an usher (I think he's in the RAF with William) don't actually know him but the other one whos mum I know well was a horse escort back to the Palace. Just thought I'd share that.
Lots of photos on Flickr.. including a few official and the cake ... and one of Prince Charles holding his step granddaughter up to see over the balcony that looks .. well.. normal apart from the uniforms.. I've so loved this wedding.
Didn't really see any of it yesterday.
Just seen a few bits of it just now and Kate Middleton... phwoar what a PILF!!!! Yes I would, no hesitation!!!
