Anyone know if the postmen have got their way? I want to order something online but don't want it to be delayed.

I live in South Wales and had post yesterday and today (today included a delivery from play dot com, posted Saturday btw of 'speed' of delivery) speaking to my postman yesterday he reckons it's the different departments not just the postmen who are on strike - so if stuff has been 'sorted' he can deliver it.
what about discussing with the seller an alternative courier service ? no delays there
Anything important ie VAT Return, I sent Recorded Delivery. I've used track & trace and it said the item was still being processed, however, the cheque I sent off has been cashed so at least I know I'll not get a fine for late payment!!!
Still waiting for my Amazon order....yawn....

Some websites are using couriers to ensure their deliveries still get through Rawky, check with the website before you buy it. As far as I know, they're striking for 3 days starting tomorrow?
I've had normal post, including three parcels, since last week.
News on just now, meeting concluded,no result yet, union has to go back to their own offices etc for discussion. Not looking too good though.
My posts been normal too.I cant decide whether I'm greatful or whether I should call my postie a scab!

Don't forget that from next April VAT returns will have to be filed online and paid either by direct debit or electronic payment, so you might as well register online now and avoid worrying about the post. Also think about sending invoices to customers by email. You can download a PDF converter which works by creating a PDF file instead of printing the invoice - virtually all computers can read PDF files. You can try to encourage customers to pay you electronically to avoid worrying about will cheques get stuck in the post if the dispute carries on for long.

Alot of customers do Electronic Payments already, so that's not too bad....I'll register online for the VAT, thanks Add Reply
