I'm still at it Xoch...blames hormones Oh bugga I can't, they were done and dusted a while ago!

I like that she came out holding her baby, (as opposed to when Charles did when Will was born,)....and that they look so genuinely happy, in love with each other and as if they REALLY like each other, bless 'em and their little boy

I thought the same Pengy.  This family have a great shot at modernising the royalty in time.

I really do think this family unit might be the one that saves the Royals

can't say I'm relishing King Charles

I agree on both counts, Pengy.

Nor me Pengy, I still can't really forgive him for Diana, even 'though it was soooo unfair to him that he was in love with Camilla and had to marry a vestel virgin...at least these two look like they genuinely like each other

Me too..she actually looks like someone who has just given birth, (more pregnant than she did before, if that makes sense) ......and her milk has obviously come in

1931:

Watch the royal couple present their one-day-old son to the world's media.

1934:

And that was it - all over in under two minutes. Catherine, dressed in a blue maternity dress with fine white spots, walked back inside the hospital with William by her side in black jeans and a light blue shirt, carrying the baby.

1938:

Minutes later, William carries the baby in a car seat to the waiting royal vehicle parked immediately outside the hospital.

Baby Cambridge

Catherine sat in the back next to her precious cargo and William drove his family back to Kensington Palace.

Yeah that's what I thought too Yogi.

How the hell do they chose a name without offending anyone? I'm going for a real curve ball here and thinking they might put Francis in there somewhere, but maybe that's just because I would, if I were them: her dad's middle name and Diana's, (with an e,) 'Spencer' would be just too naff! My oh thinks George for the first name, I want Louis!

Ceasarean?

No, I'm sure I heard earlier that it was a natural birth.

Good, seriously hope she wasn't too posh to push, (unless, of course, that may have been necessary)

ION a 'random' woman came across to my sis' and I in Aldi, (of all places!) about a month or so ago and introduced herself as the midwife who remembered us from her first 'natural' birth. We got talking and she said that she was sooo frightened at the time as she'd never had a woman who had done that before, who had such a clear birth plan, where she was in control, and it was about what the mother wanted rather than the 'medics' being in control....We thought, at the time, how unaccommadating that they were. Just shows ye!

That baby is now, (after 3 different Uni courses, lots of travelling and working across the globe on women's issues, and then finally sticking to and getting a decent degree from Durham,) (that she was never going to do anything with!) about to commence in her third year at King's as a midwife!

100% agree Any new baby is a cause to celebrate and be happy .....and that little baby was born to be a King.

I think it's rather lovely - and they looked so happy.

I wondered about Will's comment too and thought (once I'd seen Kate) that she may have had a C-section.  It would explain why they'd not seen him together (Kate exhausted after the procedure..?)

Or maybe they were faffing around with the little fella and doing XXX checks 'cos he's 3rd in line?

Sky News made me laugh: "The baby's not been named yet"

Yeah, as if the Royals are going to rush out and tell them immediately!

Still, he's a handsome chap (and fortunately nothing like his papa at that age)

Here I go again with personal stories; (!) When my twin sis had her first, Di was pregnant, there was a v young woman in the next bed who was on her third and, whilst we were beyond excited, no-one was that interested in hers, (not a bloody flower or card in sight,) so my sis, myself and my family  made a v v  BIG fuss of her. She was wondering about a name and thinking Charles, so my sis' suggested, (tongue in cheek) Charles, William, Arthur,George, (same as Prince Charles) and

that's what she chose

The name must be a nightmare, but bloody hell they have had 9 months to think about it..get on with it!

Wonders if it had been a girl that Catherine would have had a pink dress and Will a pink shirt!

Aww,,, aren't they sweet?  and so normal - can't see Charles swinging a car seat into the back seat so naturally and driving his family home like that.  I agree with the sentiments that they're the best thing to happen to the monarchy in a long time.       I know she planned a natural birth (well.. the papers told me) - do you think she'd have been going home so quickly, and carrying the baby unaided if she's had a section?  I know she's not going to have to do anything, but I seem to remember when my mate had hers she moved a bit gingerly for good wee while afterwards - nobody even helped Kate into the car

I think they should call him Alfred.. and he could be Alfie or Freddie.  Seem they only get to pick from about half a dozen names though if the betting's anything to go by

But we like baby stories on this forum!

I don't think the baby will be known as Charles or George even if they decide to christen him with either of those names.  There's already a Freddie Windsor so that might be a no-no too.
