I have to hark back to my original post re the tv licence. i REALLY dont understand why more people are not outraged by it. We moan about our council tax going up £20 but quite happily shell out over £100 a year on tv tax.  I dont want the bloody bbc, i dont want to pay them to have a computer!!!!!!

Essentially your TV licence funds a whole bunch of local radio, R1,2,3,4,5, and superior TV progs (not Birdsong obviously) on 1,2,3,4 and HD.

My mum has to shell out in excess of fwarty poond a month just so she can watch the football on SKY. Now that's the rip off, and I can now reveal that my fourth choice is the Murdoch family and associated useful idiots.

I hate the Tv licence too! I actually bought mine online this morning 145 quid!

I dont want any high quality bbc radio or tv though. If others do, thats fine, they can pay for it. I dont, so why should i pay for them to enjoy it?   Id more than happily go without eastenders for the extra £145 i would have in my purse.  I dont want sky either, so thankfully I dont have to pay for it. Why do I have to pay the bbc tax for just having a computer or a phone. It should be illegal. grrrrr...

 

Honestly this annoys me more than my divorce, and that annoys me!

I suppose it's one of the last great state institutions that has survived these last thirty odd years of Thatcherism. Once it's gone, it's gone for good and I have a bee in my bonnet ( I'm still not wearing a bra) about defending it.

I wonder what the cost of advertising on Non BBC channels puts onto our shopping bills per year?

I subscribe to a belly dance magazine, it could be much glossier and better, needs a bit more funding.  I think you should pay for it too.

I suppose it depends whether all belly dancers are obliged to subscribe. Is it state supported or private? Maybe they can take adverts.

Gyps I'm with you on the TV license sham!  We pay enough for the TV, the electric to run it, the Sky TV/Outdoor Aerial, the freeview box (coz, let's face it, we can't watch the bliddy thing without one of those!), the upkeep of them etc and shouldn't have to pay the beeb for it's utter shite it spits out aswell.

I hate them.

They are greedy, they put prices up and then slash them again in an effort to convince consumers that they have a bargain.

They rip off farmers and I loathe their food.

I also hate the patronising slogan "every little helps"

I also hate how they are taking away trade from independent pharmacies, and most of the small shops.

I know all supermarkets do it to an extent - but Tescos are by far the worse.

I swear too god she is testing me this week  she dyed her hair dark brown the other night *for a change* and my new bathroom and towels were covered in the stuff, hand prints over my new white bathroom cabinet  i've just gone upstairs and there she is bleaching her hair

it already does look like that  and i spent so many hours loving looking after her long thick hair  and now it looks like a birds nest 

I can't believe that in this thread there is both CHEESE and TOMATOES ........................there is nothing I love more than a cheese and tomato sandwich (although not necessarily in skittle bread).
