i think that's rather naive. At this stage of the game BB are looking to make some dough. A vote to save always generates lots of interest and gets rid of the dead wood at the same time.

BB creates or takes note of whatever facts they wish to. Have you noticed Lisa has never been punished? They keep punishing Marcus all the time as they want to build up his eviction vote. What about Rodrigo throwing the bottle at Charlie's head? Never punished as they see him as some pretty face who is intended to get to the final. Charlie is obviously another favourite of theirs. It would be more interesting if Endemol on their programs were a bit less obvious as to who their favourites are and who is eviction fodder.

Yes, others have discussed nominations that didn't end up with the whole house being up.

So we can assume that Marcus's punishment would have been either him being sent to jail or tokens being taken away like in past times.

It was clearly Siavash that caused this but BB want to protect him from a backlash so added Marcus in the mix because they knew everyone would (double standards like) forget about Siavash and blame Marcus for everything.
