Just did a search for Rod as was talking about him recently on here, however this was the first thing that came up on the search, so thought I'd revive the fred.

For all you Rod lovers: 'Rod Stewart's Christmas' filmed at Stirling Castle with Kylie and the Bubble, on STV tonight and repeats on ITV and +1 tomorrow. I applied for tickets for this but wasn't successful

Pah!  I've been watching Maloney - he'd be a perfect vocal match for the Aussie pancake.  I shall watch Sir Rodney tomorrow night and it'll cheer me up now that the nice Mersey boy has left for Poundland.

I love Angry Britain!

Rodders is starting to sound his age a bit too!  Much as I love him, although not the spandex years , and much as I liked the 1st American songbook, I do think he's milked the udders dry.  I don't like that odd soft way he sings now.  Bring back chewing gravel immediately!

Alright, alright!  I get that you're organised.  But I have a few questions to ask:

Is the tree straight?

Star or fairy?

And how many barrels is the local distillery missing?

Yes (I did it this morning)

Angel (slutty one in a red dress)

Not a one......

awww Soops

I was coming in here to say that I have never ever been able to see the appeal of Rod, vocally (sounds like he's smoked 60 captsan full strength a day) or sexually (he looks like a scrotum)...

but I shall accept his love god status and not call him a scrotum if he was a fave of your Mams xx

(my Mum's hunks of choice where Christopher Reeve & Steve Davis the snooker player    I don';t think charisma are high on her list of fanciable traits )

Yep that was great Cosi, and I see what you mean about how his voice is changing.      Speaking of which - did anybody hear Macca on Radio 2 this afternoon?     I just caught five minutes in the car, and I thought it was some bloke that sounded a bit like him until he said 'My daughter, Stella...'  He talks like a really old bloke now .... no wonder he can't sing for toffee.

I briefly watched a bit of Macca in the studio recording his latest album Kisses On The Bottom.  Thank god for the (unnamed - no surprises there) bloke duetting with him.

Terrible thin reedy voice and way too late to catch the coat-tails of Rod and his oldie songbook stuff.

Poor Supes

This thread is like one big spoiler for tomorrow night (for me, a non STV viewer)   I'm so glad I didn't make a typo in that last sentence...

So he's as bad in the studio as he is live then.. he really needs to give it up.

Really?  How did you (almost) swing that?

Edit - just read back and saw you'd applied for tickets.    I thought it was a celeb invited audience.  That must just be the front rows - like the Hootenanay
