The logistics side of Afghanistan on ITV 1 now.................does anyone watch it? It's really interesting and it gives a real good insight as to what these peeps go through as well as frontline troops

onetoo, I've been watching it because my son is in Logistics and going out there in a few weeks. I can't make up my mind if it was the right thing; to watch or not to watch. Sometimes, knowing too much is scarier than knowing less.

Hi Cologne, you're back I know, it must be real hard for you and others who have relatives out there. You're right, it's the devil and the deep blue sea isn't it? I'm only going by what I see/hear but I think our peeps are beginning to make a difference and can leave the Afghans to rule their own country asap. I don't support the war, but DO support our peeps out there doing their job
I don't support the war either, Afghanistan or Iraq. Funnily enough, neither does my son, but he has signed up for it and so follows what he decided to do 12 years ago. He and many of his mates know that the war might be futile (knowing the history in that region), but they put their efforts in and hope they are doing the right thing and make a difference in the end.

As an outsider looking in, I do believe they are doing the right thing
I most certainly do not wish to derail this thread. (Forgive me onetwo.)
I just want to say it is good to see cologne. Back to topic.....

That's ok Brisket
my son is in the logistics and is going out in 2 weeks for his 3rd tour , he totally thrives on his work and i need to believe that he will be fine , as he usually is but i know for a fact that they are all doing things above and beyond their duty and i cry buckets when i hear of a fatality and pray for all the boys nightly ... i am aware the logistics are frowned upon sometimes as not being in the frontline but they are so so very essiantial in every way

I'm with you totally. The Logistics boys have to take the brunt of it out there.
