Formally Corrie bin man Eddie Yates and latterly known for his Onslow character in Keeping up Appearances 
I loved him as Onslow - he was fab at that but my favourite scene he was ever in was when he was in Corrie and he got Annie Walker some carpet with AW monogrammed in it. She thought it was high class carpet, turned out it was a knock off piece from the local flea pit hotel
