Chris Boardman's blaming the course, and is seriously angry about it:
Former Olympic individual pursuit champion Chris Boardman told the BBC the course was dangerous.
"I am past commenting - I am angry about it," he said.
"I went down and had a look at the course and saw those edges. We knew it was way past being technical; it was dangerous. The people who designed the course and said what safety features were needed had seen it as well and left it.
"We knew the descent was treacherous. I looked at that road furniture and thought, nobody can crash here and just get up. It is really bad and that is what we have seen today."

Good ...the way she fell I was worried she had broken her neck , or worse
whoever designed that course must have walked it, they certainly didn't try riding it at speed, it was a death trap

We were so pleased she survived. We've seen (and had) crashes but that one was bad. She looked twisted and lifeless and we couldn't settle until we knew she was OK.

Adam Peaty wins gold - and breaks his own World Record in the process!
He finished 1.5 seconds ahead of his nearest rival!
And with that - I'm finally off to bed!

Injuries like that are bad but when you think of all the hard work and sacrifices they've made to compete it just makes it so much worse
