actually I could really get on a roll here with Marcus.... the way he lies on his bed in his smelly clobber - ALL the time, he lies on his bed watching EVERYTHING - not missing a trick. I watched the overnight L/F today and he just lies there on his bed in the same clothes he has worn all day - lies there facing Norin, doesnt move so everyone thinks he's asleep, but he sees bloody everything - his head is like a persiscope whenever anyone moves...
They showed him with his action figures on his VT. Werent you paying attention?quote:Originally posted by Senora Reyes:

They will be worth much more if still in their boxes. Those sort of collections go for a lot of money.

A lot of Marcus hating, so I expect to see him leaving on Friday then.
Shame cos I like him.
I wouldn't call anyone who can do 20 one armed press ups a nerd to their face, lol.
His 'Holiest of Holy's' isn't weird, there's plenty far weirder things to collect. Like teapots and, dare I say...shoes.

Excuse me? There is nothing weird about collecting shoes

He's probably had far too much time to perfect those one armed press ups in his room on his own. A nerd is a nerd ...........physical strength has nothing to do with it IMO ........often the nerdiest nerds are strong simply because they have nothing else in their lives other than to build themselves up as something to do.

he doesnt look strong to me - he looks like a very dated fat git, who speaks a load of sexist shite and who has had trouble getting a g/f all his life
my last post for the night
And theyre nearly all from "when he was a kid" but he never opened the boxes coz he knew theyd be crap?! What a complete load of boloni. Is there nothing this cretin wont lie about? How many kids do you know who would get something like that and just look at it through the box without undoing it? What IS he on; Weirdo!
Some people are so anti-collecting toy figurist!! Amazing how something as harmless as collecting toy figures brings out the prejudice in people.
We all know the guy aint Action Man but what the hell. Leave toy figures alone.

Action figures still in their boxes?
Probably get as much action as he does then!

There has got to be a joke in here somewhere....
*goes away to think*

I wonder if he has the Action Man with eagle eyes and gripping hands.

Aye they are worth a fortune if boxed, my dad has collected Corgi, Dinky, Solido etc...since the 60's

i'm quite happy to export him to Japan ...........the guy is a complete and utter nerd.
I think you're being too kind to him. How about "repulsive, know-it-all bully"?
You give him far too much credit IMO .....he sits at home playing on his PS or whatever and has the occasional night out ........the guy is a complete and utter dickhead/nerd/div/mummys boy .................take your pick.
Or perhaps he sits at his computer all day, knocking out 1000 posts a month on an internet forum...
Yes, Dinkys are especially valuable esp the old ones and if they are boxed the price sky rockets. Though there are a lot of fakes because they are easy to copy given the technology used to make them.quote:Originally posted by Bovrilking:quote:Originally posted by *BB*:quote:Originally posted by suzybean:

Its only the rare boxed ones that make big money though the others probably not too much but it all adds up.
Ive got some rare matchbox's from when I was a kid but they are all played with and worse for wear and i dont regret it even though my Dinky FAB1 would be worth about ÂĢ500 mint and boxed not much return for the how old it is and the original cost.
You would make more collecting other things to be honest.
I don't really see anything wrong with Marcus collecting action figures. People collect all sorts of things - odder than that I bet
He could be Bumblebee of the Transformers

i knew when he said he'd seen stuff people shouldn't have to see, he was talking about the troubles his action men got into
maybe he was talking about his mum

We did have, from a boot fair.... but he ended up breaking into bits and we could never fix him Got a Steve Austin bionic man also, but he has sellotape over his robotic bits to keep them in his arm. Our son played with them a lot.
I once went out with a guy who collected X Men figurines and we were 23 at the time, no shame about it but though I really did try my best to be like a kid again and actually make the Storm character he gave me to play with, come alive, I felt like a fraud but I did it anyway because I liked him and I wanted to make him happy.

Now...which forummer has been missing for the last six weeks?
I liked his talk about video games the other night with Siavash. Anyone who loves Resident Evil 4 is a person of taste!

i do that AND play computer games...
THEY ARE NOT ACTION FIGURES...THEY ARE DOLLS!!!
I do hate it when men and boys won't face the fact that that's exactly what their action men, toy soldiers etc really are

I thought the difference between dolls and "action figures" ( a silly name I agree) was the number of points of articulation.
Back at School a friend of mine was nuts for them..but we were 11.

That sounds like a differentiation a daft bloke like Marcus would try and make to cover up the fact that he is indeed playing with DOLLS!!!
He needs to go this Friday.
I had an Uncle that collected dinky cars and stuff. He had hundreds of them. He's in his 80's now, but he was a normal bloke, married family... made a lot of dosh when he flogged them later in life.
