Manny Pacquiao was too much for him, another fight where it is too much for him in terms of weight. Knocked out in round 2 too and he was on the floor in the first round Pacquiaos punches were too strong and he was all over Hatton. I seen on Sky Sports today he's thinking of retiring . If United beat City on the weekend it will only get worse for him .

What do you mean IF - of Course united will beat City.
I remember the Manchester Derbies from My childhood - they were legendary - causing fights in some households
No was too tired to stay up but he got a shoeing which is a shame.

Been a long standing joke here that United are Citys guarenteed 3 points a year cos often they come out on top in the derby. We usually let it go, brush it off by telling them to enjoy their cup final but its all balls. Come on the reds, the bitters don't shut up about it when they get an excuse to brag.

A shame but apparently it was half expected
Just to draw your attention to another local boy done well who won his fight earlier on in the night. Jamie Moore, was in my year at school, doing great. Well done Jamie

I've never seen a KO like it - scary

It only happened briefly
I watched it in slow motion replay yesterday. It reminded me of the AXA car crash adverts that show blows to the head (shudders).
I hope Ricky doesn't have any adverse effects to his health.

Darlo, how much do you reckon people pay for a ticket to one of these matches, they must be sooooooo pee'd off when they just sit down and then its all over, must feel cheated

Hardly time to get comfy in your seat, take a sip of a drink, then bam.
I considered flying out there, but it would have cost best part of 5 grand for me and oh. glad i didnt bother now. I never expected hitman to win, there's no shame in losing to pacman, but i thought he'd go at least 8 rounds, i do feel a bit cheated tbh.
I blame mayweather snr. more than i do ricky though. Personally, I'd like to see hatton fight again, but he has no chance of ever being p4p champion so any fights he has would be lesser fights. so maybe he should retire now and stick to promotions. KO's like that cause long term damaging, and the look on his gf's face will stay with me for quite a while.

Hatton is great to watch, unfortunatly it seems he just can't take that final step up to elite class.
What a warrior though, and a decent bloke.

I did the same once when Joe Calzaghe fought some Kenyan bloke in Las Vegas.
I drank shandy to begin with, then moved on to the wine and finished the morning off with JD.
I woke up fully clothed in the bath. (which was empty) I presume I fell in. I remember knack all of the fight!
Those were the days

, the only thing City can say is that they are the richest club in the world, funded by a Dubai millionaire of course. But you only need to look at Uniteds trophy cabinet all through hard work as they started from scratch and the facts speak for themselves . Wannabes going to get beaten by the Red Devils.

don't like the sound of it one bit.
I am not a Mayweather fan. While I am in awe of Mayweather's talents as a ring master, I have never been that impressed with his wins. Certainly, his record alone gets him a Hall of Fame vote, but I come from the old school of fight fans, and I like it when a fighter, especially a well paid one, actually "fights" in the ring.
Mayweather is deceptive, sly, quick, and a master of using the ring and his hands to tie up other boxers. But other than a few rounds throughout his career, I have never seen him use his hands or actually engage his opponent in a fight.
Modern guys like Hatton, Pacquiao, and Calzaghe bring the crowd to their feet with punching exhibitions that make grown men cry. We, as fight fans, want to see that our guy can not only dole out punishment, but actually take a punch or two in the name of pugilistic glory.
That's not Mayweather. He prefers to dance and outpoint his opponents, and while there is nothing wrong with this, it makes for boring fights.

I like Mayweather , also because he was on WWE .
manny vs mayweather jr is one fight I would love to watch, hope it happens!
Whats annoying me today is that I keep reading comments like "hatton fought like an amateur". No he didnt, an amateur would have kept his guard up and used his defences.

You have to feel sorry for Ricky hatton....last time I saw someone get battered that badly around the ring they were found floating in Michael Barrymore's pool!
