Very sad news.
Of course I'm old enough to remember buying Pictures of Matchstick Men. A lovely new sound at the time. They could obviously play in spite of all the boogie nonsense in latter years. Later one of my school friends was a groupie who followed them around before changing to Mott the Hoople. All underage stuff - she was mature beyond her years. But as I became wiser I realised it was particularly naughty on their part and lost all respect for these bands. I'm sure it happened all over but I subsequently harboured a particular dislike for certain groups. Sadly she died this year too.
Still! Mustn't speak ill of the dead and all that.
