Perhaps to make it more child friendly...corkscrews are a bugger to handle when you are 9!
I thought the same thing when I saw it. Imagine some really thirsty kid coming in for a quick drink and finding that.

It doesn't me really as I would never buy it. I was just having a moment of fake outrage after seeing the stuff in Sainsbury's.
useful for festivals and picnics ....... I remember shaking my head when I first saw screwtops on wine, but I much prefer them now.

Whats wrong with a good old box of wine I really dont mind, there is something nice about opening a bottle but well...wine is wiine and i aint fussy
...I still miss corks though one year i kept all the corks from wine i had drunk over the year...the plan was to make a cork board out of them. of course that never happened but it was alarming to see just how big the bag of corks were
